In total, from the beginning of the year to July 15, the whole country exported more than 4.48 million tons of rice, with a turnover of nearly 2.4 billion USD, an increase of more than 17% in volume and 28% over the same period last year.

The turnover growth is higher than the volume, so the average value of each ton of exported rice this year is also higher than the same period in 2022. Specifically, from the beginning of the year to July 15, the average value reached more than 530 USD/ton, while in the same period last year it was only nearly 490 USD/ton.

Vietnam's three largest export markets are all in Asia: the Philippines, China and Indonesia, with the results respectively (updated by market in the first 6 months of the year): 1,698,593 tons, 857.7 million USD; 677,387 tons, 390.6 million USD: 492,801 tons, 244 million USD. Export activities to the three key markets all had positive growth compared to the same period last year.

According to the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), India's policy of restricting rice exports will impact the global rice trade market. Vietnam and Thailand will benefit from this policy.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, on July 27, in the domestic market, rice prices continued to increase by 50-100 VND/kg. In the export market, rice prices increased by 5 USD/ton. Specifically, 5% broken rice was traded at 548 USD/ton, up 5 USD/ton, and 25% broken rice was at 528 USD/ton.

Thai rice prices are also the most expensive since April 2020 and have now increased by 7% compared to two weeks ago.
