The State Securities Commission has just issued a document requesting securities companies and fund management companies to strengthen cybersecurity, take measures to respond to urgent situations, and ensure the security and safety of trading systems and the rights of investors.
Securities companies and fund managers must conduct information security checks and assessments for their information systems in accordance with the regulations and guidelines of the Ministry of Information and Communications . Simultaneously, securities companies must develop plans for responding to security incidents and emergencies related to online securities trading systems; and organize awareness campaigns to improve information security awareness among their staff.
Securities companies continue to be reminded to strengthen security measures for their trading systems.
This document contains similar content following document No. 1837 of the Securities Commission dated March 25th regarding a security warning for online securities trading systems, immediately after VNDIRECT Securities Company was attacked by international hackers, causing its system to crash and trading to be suspended for several days.
Following this incident, the State Securities Commission requested securities companies to proactively review and immediately check security measures for their information technology systems; especially securities trading systems and systems connected to the internet, in order to promptly address any security vulnerabilities (if any); and at the same time, to check online trading processes, risk control, system backup, data management and operation processes of information technology systems, and develop measures to respond to and mitigate potential security risks...
The Prime Minister has directed the State Securities Commission to take the lead in coordinating with relevant agencies to urgently conduct a comprehensive review and thorough inspection of the securities trading system and information technology system, proactively develop risk control procedures and measures to handle and respond to urgent situations, prevent technical incidents, and ensure the security and safety of the financial system and the rights of investors.
