Require securities companies to strengthen security of trading systems

The State Securities Commission has just issued an official dispatch requesting securities companies and fund management companies to strengthen network information security, take measures to respond to urgent situations, ensure security, safety of the trading system and the interests of investors.

Securities companies and fund management companies must organize information security inspections and assessments for information systems according to regulations and instructions of the Ministry of Information and Communications . At the same time, securities companies must develop plans to respond to security incidents and emergency situations for online securities trading systems; organize propaganda and dissemination to raise awareness of information security for their officers and employees.

Securities companies continue to be reminded to strengthen the security of their trading systems.

This document has similar content following the document No. 1837 of the Securities Commission dated March 25 regarding the warning about the security of the online securities trading system right after VNDIRECT Securities Company was attacked by international hackers, causing the system to crash and trading to stop for many days.

After this incident, the State Securities Commission requested securities companies to proactively review and immediately check security plans for information technology systems; especially securities trading systems and systems connected to the internet to promptly fix security vulnerabilities (if any); at the same time, check online trading processes, control risks, back up systems, data on management and operation processes of information technology systems, develop response measures and overcome potential security risks...

The Prime Minister directed the State Securities Commission to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies to urgently review comprehensively and thoroughly inspect the securities trading system and information technology system, proactively develop risk control procedures, measures to handle and respond to urgent situations, prevent technical incidents, ensure security and safety of the financial system, and interests of investors.
