- Amidst the dynamic modern lifestyle, with many new sports options , yoga in Lang Son is still steadily developing, gradually affirming its solid position in the spiritual and physical life of the people. Constantly innovating, increasingly specialized and having its own influence, yoga has become the choice of many Lang Son people who want to find physical health and peace of mind.
People in the province practice yoga at clubs and gyms.
Introduced to Lang Son about 15 years ago, yoga had a period of vibrant development, then gradually stabilized in a more sustainable and professional direction. Currently, the whole province has over 20 yoga centers and clubs with more than 500 people practicing regularly, present in many places from Lang Son city to districts such as Loc Binh, Huu Lung, Cao Loc...
It is not difficult to see people practicing yoga in the early morning when the sun has just risen, or in the late afternoon after work, in a quiet and relaxing space at gyms, parks, etc. in the province. Yoga has recently become not only a sport, but has gradually become a meeting place to connect the community.
In that development trend, the presence of international coaches, especially those from India - the cradle of yoga - has brought a new breeze to the yoga movement in Lang Son. Mr. Deepak Mishra (Indian nationality), yoga coach at YogDeep Club, Loc Binh town, Loc Binh district shared: I came to Lang Son to be a coach since 2022. After a period of living and working here, I really love this land because of the fresh air, friendly people and especially the perseverance and love for yoga. Therefore, I decided to get married and stay here with the desire to inspire, guide precise techniques and spread a healthy, harmonious lifestyle in accordance with the "spirit" of Indian yoga.
His gym in Loc Binh district currently maintains a regular attendance of about 30 students. Along with Mr. Deepak Mishra, according to incomplete statistics from the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism , the province currently has about 10 Indian yoga instructors directly instructing at yoga facilities and clubs, contributing to promoting professional quality and creating deep cultural connections.
Not stopping at traditional yoga, in recent years, many coaches have proactively innovated their training methods, including the emergence of Aerial Yoga - a combination of yoga, pilates and artistic movements in a suspended position in the air using silk fabric.
Ms. Dam Thi Thuy, Head of Yoga Queen Club, Vinh Trai Ward, Lang Son City shared: I have been practicing yoga since 2020 and started bringing Aerial Yoga to Lang Son since 2023. This type of yoga brings a new experience, both effective and interesting, so it attracts a lot of women's interest. Currently, the gym has about 50 members practicing regularly with 3 coaches.
The development of yoga in Lang Son is also demonstrated through the participation of children. At many clubs such as Queen, Quynh Anh, Victoria..., children's yoga classes are opened with schedules and curriculums suitable for age and safety. Ngo Huu Nhien (6 years old), Chi Lang ward, Lang Son city happily said: When I was 4 years old, my mother took me to practice yoga at Victoria Club. I really liked it because I could exercise and play with my friends.
In late May, when yoga clubs in the area were actively practicing to prepare for the International Yoga Festival and Indian Cultural Exchange in 2025 in Lang Son city, the yoga atmosphere in gyms, cultural houses, and the provincial Sports Stadium became even more exciting. Yoga lovers in the province were excited not only because of the honor of participating in yoga performances at famous tourist destinations, participating in yoga events, participating in yoga competitions... but also because this event marked a clear change when yoga in Lang Son is gradually becoming a sport - culture with orientation, depth and international connection.
Ms. Le Hai Yen, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: This is an opportunity for clubs in the province to exchange, learn from each other and gain deeper access to professional yoga. Through the practice and performance activities of yoga clubs associated with tourism culture within the framework of the festival, we hope to spread the good values of yoga, while contributing to promoting the image of Lang Son to domestic and international friends.
With slow movements in a peaceful space, yoga is spreading in the lives of Lang Son people, contributing to the formation of a positive and connected lifestyle. With serious investment, diverse forms, participation of many generations and increasingly deep international connections, the yoga movement in Lang Son does not only stop at health training, but also opens up new opportunities for cultural exchange and sustainable tourism development in the future.
