On August 29, a representative of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province said that the Provincial People's Committee has just issued a decision to change the names of 14 high schools under the Department of Education and Training of the province, all located in the east of the province (formerly Phu Yen ).
Nguyen Hue High School, Tuy Hoa Ward, Dak Lak (former Tuy Hoa City, Phu Yen) was renamed instead of being given the number 2 to distinguish it after the merger.

Specifically, the People's Committee of Dak Lak province changed the name of Nguyen Hue High School No. 2 to Nguyen Hue High School; Ngo Gia Tu High School No. 2 to Ngo Gia Tu High School; Nguyen Trai High School No. 2 to Nguyen Trai High School; Nguyen Truong To High School No. 2 to Nguyen Truong To High School.
Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School No. 2 became Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School; Pham Van Dong High School No. 2 became Pham Van Dong High School; Ton Duc Thang High School No. 2 became Ton Duc Thang High School; Phan Chu Trinh High School No. 2 became Phan Chu Trinh High School.
Phan Dinh Phung High School No. 2 became Phan Dinh Phung High School; Tran Phu High School No. 2 became Tran Phu High School; Nguyen Thai Binh High School No. 2 became Nguyen Thai Binh High School; Phan Boi Chau High School No. 2 became Phan Boi Chau High School; Le Hong Phong High School No. 2 became Le Hong Phong High School; Nguyen Cong Tru High School No. 2 became Nguyen Cong Tru High School.
The Provincial People's Committee requested 14 high schools to change their organization and operation names in accordance with the provisions of Circular No. 32, dated September 15, 2020 of the Minister of Education and Training promulgating the charter of junior high schools, high schools, and multi-level general schools and current legal regulations.
A representative of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province said that when the province merged, there were 14 schools in the west of the province (formerly Dak Lak) with the same name as 14 schools in the east of the province (formerly Phu Yen). To distinguish between schools in the west and east with overlapping names, schools in the west were numbered 1 and schools in the east were numbered 2.
"After the Provincial People's Committee issued a decision to change the names of 14 high schools in the east of the province (formerly Phu Yen), the schools will change back to their original names. High schools in the west of the province with names similar to these 14 schools will be given an additional number 1 to distinguish them," said this representative.
