23 authors and groups of authors won the 7th Quang Tri Provincial Journalism Award.

This afternoon, June 20th, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province held a meeting to commemorate the 99th anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day (June 21st, 1925-2024) and to summarize and present awards for the 7th Quang Tri Provincial Journalism Awards, 2023. Attending the meeting were Mr. Vo Van Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Ho Dai Nam, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Mr. Hoang Nam, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives from relevant departments, agencies, and units; and a large number of officials, reporters, editors from media outlets in the province and members of the Provincial Journalists Association.

Press agencies in the area are developing strongly.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung expressed his delight at the innovation of press agencies and journalists. According to the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, press agencies in the province have been developing and growing stronger in all aspects. Many press agencies have adopted modern journalistic technology; are gradually undergoing digital transformation; and are bringing journalistic information to various media infrastructures and platforms.

Along with the innovation and development of the press, the team of journalists in the province has always been a pioneering force, providing timely, truthful, and comprehensive information on the political , economic, and social situation of the province. Many journalists do not shy away from difficulties and hardships, staying close to the grassroots to produce articles rich in topicality and social significance. Information published in the media is increasingly diverse, reflecting multiple perspectives and attracting a large number of visitors.

Sending congratulations on the 99th anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day on June 21st, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung praised the efforts and achievements of the journalistic community. Overcoming all difficulties and challenges, the journalists of Quang Tri have excellently fulfilled their duties, helping the press to develop further and making a positive contribution to the renewal and integration of the homeland and the country.

According to Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung, Quang Tri province is currently striving to transform itself for development and integration. Many key projects have been and are being implemented in the province. Along with that, Quang Tri province is gradually building its image, creating new momentum for development, and maximizing its potential and advantages...

In this context, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that the team of journalists in the province will continue to uphold the pioneering spirit; closely follow, extensively publicize, and provide timely, truthful, and comprehensive information on the political, economic , and social life of the province.

Another very important task is to pay more attention to policy dissemination, contributing to bringing policies into life, transforming policies into strength and a driving force to promote the rapid and sustainable development of the province.

The Provincial People's Committee hopes that media agencies will continue to cooperate, share ideas, and contribute suggestions... together with the Party Committee, government, and people of the province to successfully achieve the goals and tasks of 2024.

Also at the meeting, leaders of relevant departments and agencies provided an overview of the province's socio-economic situation; introduced the Festival for Peace, its trailer and visual identity...

Many entries in the Provincial Journalism Award were of outstanding quality.

At the ceremony, the Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association and Editor-in-Chief of Quang Tri Newspaper, Truong Duc Minh Tu, presented a summary and evaluation of the entries in the 7th Provincial Journalism Award in 2023. This year's award attracted 103 entries from members and contributors, a 14.4% increase compared to the previous year. The preliminary judging panel selected 40 entries for the final round. After evaluation and scoring, the final judging panel selected 23 outstanding works by individual authors and groups of authors to be submitted to the Provincial People's Committee for recognition and awarding.

A new feature of this year's competition is the abundance of meticulously prepared and high-quality journalistic works. The entries cover a wide range of topics, comprehensively reflecting the province's socio-economic life and showcasing the strengths of all journalistic formats. Many works demonstrate innovation in content selection and presentation, generating positive public opinion. Notably, among the entries in this year's Provincial Journalism Award, one work from Quang Tri Newspaper won the C Prize at the 18th National Journalism Award in 2023.

Within the framework of the program, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Van Hung presented certificates of merit and flowers to the group of authors: Truong Duc Minh Tu - Phan Hoai Huong - Lam Thi Hoai Thanh - Tran Tu Linh for their outstanding achievement in winning the C Prize at the 18th National Journalism Awards in 2023 with the work "The Friendly Cooperation Relationship between Vietnam and Cuba: Inheriting Tradition, Building the Future". Provincial leaders and the Provincial Journalists Association awarded 8 A prizes, 8 B prizes, and 7 C prizes to individual authors and groups of authors.
