3 helicopters ready for search and rescue in flooded areas

(Dan Tri Newspaper) - Three helicopters from the 916th Air Regiment will participate in rescue and relief efforts for flood victims in Yen Bai and Cao Bang provinces.
The Chief of Staff of the Air Defense - Air Force Command has just directed helicopter forces to be ready to carry out rescue and relief missions in the flood-affected areas of the North. Accordingly, the 916th Air Regiment (371st Division) will have 2 helicopters directly participating in the relief efforts: Mi 171 and Mi 17 (1 Mi 7 is in reserve).

The team will be divided into two flight crews to participate in aerial search and rescue operations in the flooded areas of Yen Bai and Cao Bang provinces. The aircraft will transport essential supplies such as instant noodles, drinking water, bread, and life rafts to assist flood victims. After determining the mission plan, the aircraft will carry out rescue operations using hovercrafts or landing at designated areas to drop off supplies. Currently, the two aircraft, flight crews, and aerial search and rescue team at Air Regiment 916 are fully equipped and ready to carry out the mission. Previously, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Directive No. 92 on focusing on overcoming the consequences of Typhoon No. 3 and the subsequent floods. In the directive, the Prime Minister requested the deployment of forces and resources, including helicopters, to reach affected areas and assist in transporting food and supplies to the people; ensuring the safety of dikes and embankments, etc.
