According to Mr. Ho Tan Minh, Chief of the Office of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, as of 2 PM today (August 29th), 326 students from the American International School have not yet transferred out. This number does not include students who have graduated from high school, those from provinces who have transferred back to their hometowns, those who have gone abroad for studies, or those with foreign citizenship who have returned to their home countries with their parents. Meanwhile, the number of students who have transferred out is 757.

According to Mr. Minh, the Department has issued a document regarding support for transferring students from the American International School. For 9th grade students and high school students, the Secondary Education Department (Department of Education and Training) coordinates with high schools and multi-level schools to arrange and organize enrollment in accordance with regulations.

For the remaining cases (without an identification code), the Department of Primary and Secondary Education will assist in arranging school places for the students.

The Department of Education and Training has also coordinated with the Education and Training Departments of districts, counties, and Thu Duc City to arrange school places for all students at public schools according to their addresses, and has sent enrollment notices to parents. At the same time, the Department has invited parents to attend a guidance session on the school transfer process.

In addition, the Department and the Education and Training Offices of the districts, counties, and Thu Duc City... have made full preparations to support the reception of parents and guide them through the school transfer procedures. However, many parents have not yet come and have not completed the school transfer for their children.

"For cases where the school transfer procedure has not yet been completed, we request that parents promptly contact the local Department of Education and Training for guidance on the enrollment procedure before September 5th," Mr. Minh stated.

The Chief of Staff of the Department affirmed that, based on objective and subjective conditions, the American International School cannot resume educational activities in the 2024-2025 school year. As the state agency responsible for education management, the Department requests that parents, in accordance with their responsibilities and obligations, transfer their children to another school to ensure their continuous education.
