In the first 6 months of 2024, Vietnam spent 2.56 billion USD importing animal feed and raw materials, an increase of 9.6% compared to the first 6 months of 2023.

According to preliminary statistics of the General Department of Customs, import of goods group food Livestock and raw materials imported to Vietnam in June 2024 decreased by 4% compared to May 2024 but increased by 4.5% compared to June 2023, reaching 423.75 million USD. In general, in the first 6 months of 2024, imports of this group of goods reached over 2.56 billion USD, an increase of 9.6% compared to the first 6 months of 2023.

In the first 6 months of the year, Vietnam spent 2.56 billion USD to buy animal feed and raw materials.

Imports of animal feed and raw materials are mostly from the Argentine market, accounting for 28% of the total import turnover of this group of goods nationwide, reaching nearly 717.79 million USD, up 21% compared to the first 6 months of 2023; of which June 2024 alone reached 172.41 million USD, up 8.5% compared to May 2024 and a sharp increase of 51.4% compared to June 2023.

Ranked second is the US market, accounting for 22.8%, reaching 582.96 million USD, a sharp increase of 69.6% over the same period in 2023; in June 2024 alone, imports from this market reached over 84.75 million USD, an increase of 23.7% over May 2024 and an increase of 34.7% over June 2023.

Next to the Brazilian market in June 2024 import down 29.8% compared to May 2024 and down 36.8% compared to June 2023, reaching over 57.92 million USD; in the first 6 months of 2024, imports from this market increased by 15.2% compared to the first 6 months of 2023; reaching over 371.76 million USD, accounting for 14.5% of the total turnover.
