According to information from technology experts, Apple may stop selling 7 current products to "clear the way" for new iPhone 17 models, including 4 iPhone models currently on the market.

Users can still buy iPhone 16 Pro from third-party stores even after Apple has discontinued production

Earlier this year, Apple replaced the old iPhone SE with the more modern iPhone 16e. This budget iPhone is expected to be updated annually, so the iPhone 16e won't be discontinued. However, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus may no longer be available after the iPhone 17 launch event. While other retailers may still carry them, Apple won't keep them in its stores. If that happens, it will be the first time that all iPhone models in production will support Apple Intelligence.
The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are also likely to remain, although the iPhone 17 and 17 Air will be released to replace them. It's no surprise that the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will no longer be sold to make way for the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max. Instead of discounting the year-old Pro models, Apple will stop selling them altogether, as it has in previous years.
What will the iPhone price be like after the iPhone 17 launch?
In summary, the four iPhone models expected to be discontinued after September 9 include the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. The iPhone lineup that Apple continues to sell will have the following starting prices:
- iPhone 16e: $599.
- iPhone 16: $699.
- iPhone 16 Plus: $799.
- iPhone 17: $799.
- iPhone 17 Air: $949.
- iPhone 17 Pro: $1,049.
- iPhone 17 Pro Max: $1,199.

Not only iPhone, many Apple Watch and AirPods models may also stop production after September 9

These prices take into account the $50 increase for the iPhone 17 Pro with double the storage and the $50 difference for the iPhone 17 Air compared to the iPhone 16 Plus. One analyst also predicts the starting price of the iPhone 17 Pro Max could be as high as $1,249.
In addition to the iPhone, Apple is expected to launch three other products next month: the Apple Watch Series 11, the Apple Watch Ultra 3, and possibly the AirPods Pro 3. Apple regularly replaces the Watch Series models, and the Apple Watch Ultra 3 will replace the Apple Watch Ultra 2, which was released two years ago. The AirPods Pro 3 will also replace the AirPods Pro 2, while the AirPods 2 and AirPods 3 will continue to be sold until the AirPods 4 is released.
The Apple Watch SE (second generation) is now as old as the first generation, but information about the product is still limited.
Based on the information currently available, it is likely that Apple will discontinue production of four iPhone models, two Apple Watch models, and one version of AirPods immediately after the "Air Dropping" event.
