Thien Huong Ward listens to people, renovates many roads

People are excited

Route 203 connects National Highway 10 to Road 359 through Thien Huong Ward, about 2.6 km long. This is the main route in the North-South direction of Thien Huong Ward ( Hai Phong City), not only connecting wards, but also serving the production, business and service needs of people and businesses in the ward and surrounding areas.

Although this route has been upgraded and renovated many times, due to the need for socio -economic development, the large number of vehicles passing through the route, high traffic density leading to potential traffic safety risks, many sections of the road have degraded. Of which, 100m of road from National Highway 10 turning into the market next to Aurora Vietnam Shoe Industry Co., Ltd. has degraded and peeled off road surface.

Faced with this situation, local people petitioned the local government to pay attention to investing in renovation and repair.

After the two-level local government operates, from grasping and absorbing voters' opinions and recommendations, on the basis of direction and unification of policies of the Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of Thien Huong ward, they deploy investment in renovating and repairing the road, assigning the Department of Economy, Infrastructure and Urban Areas to be the investor to implement.

Deputy Head of the Economic, Infrastructure and Urban Department of Thien Huong Ward Mac Thanh Tung said that the unit quickly completed the documents and implemented the renovation and repair of the road section with the following scale: Asphalt concrete paving, road surface repair for a 100m long section, road markings, speed bumps; grassing the roadside, cleaning up along both sides of the route to the Hoa Dong area, Thuy Nguyen Ward.

According to the plan, the road renovation and repair was to be carried out within 20 days. However, with the efforts of the contractor and the cooperation of the people, in just 10 days, the road renovation and repair was basically completed, meeting the wishes of the people in the area. Ms. Nguyen Thi Luu, Thien Huong 1 residential group happily said: "Before, every time it rained, this road was always flooded, water overflowed into the house. Now that it has been renovated and repaired, the people are very excited."

Contribute to improving urban appearance

Deputy Head of the Economic, Infrastructure and Urban Department of Thien Huong Ward Mac Thanh Tung added: Not only route 203, from receiving voters' opinions, the ward invested in renovating and upgrading 2 other routes including the route from Provincial Road 351 to Trinh Xa Market (old) in Thien Huong 4 residential group with a length of 120 m (building manholes, handling clogged drainage ditches, replacing collapsed ditches, pouring concrete on the road surface and painting speed bumps); the route from the Cultural House of Kien Bai 1 residential group to Mr. Phong's house in Kien Bai 1 residential group is 415 m long.

Up to now, the road from Provincial Road 351 to the old Trinh Xa market has been completed. The road from the Cultural House of Kien Bai 1 residential group to Mr. Phong's house is under construction, striving to be completed in December 2025.

The timely renovation, repair and upgrading of roads following the petition was highly appreciated by local people. Mr. Hoang Dac Ket, Party cell secretary, Head of Thien Huong 4 residential group shared: "Previously, some roads through the ward were degraded, causing difficulties for people in the residential area to travel. Since the renovation and repair were completed, they have met the travel needs of the people and contributed to improving the appearance of the residential area to be more spacious, clean and beautiful."

For the residents of Kien Bai 1 residential group, upgrading the road from the Cultural House of the residential group has been a long-awaited wish, because the degraded road causes flooding when it rains and affects people's travel and production. Ms. Nguyen Thi Duyen, a resident of the residential group, said that the people are very happy when the ward organizes the construction to renovate and upgrade this road.

During the implementation process, people in related areas actively cooperated, created favorable conditions for the construction unit, demonstrated the spirit of consensus, joined hands to build traffic infrastructure and urban appearance to be more and more spacious and civilized. Therefore, the construction works were completed on schedule, ensuring quality and labor safety.

Upgrading, renovating and repairing roads immediately after voters' opinions not only meets people's wishes but also demonstrates the spirit of listening, responsibility, being close to the people, and acting for the people of the local Party committees and authorities.

This is also an important basis for the locality to promote socio-economic development, soon realizing the goal of building Thien Huong ward to be increasingly green, clean, beautiful, civilized and modern.
