91.8% of households in An Duong ward classify waste at source.

An Duong ward currently has more than 18,400 households, accounting for 91.8% of the total number of households classifying household waste at source.

The City Women's Union monitors the classification of waste at source in An Duong ward.

After implementing the two-level local government, An Duong ward has about 20,000 households with 70,000 people. Every day, the ward generates about 70 tons of household waste, of which the collection, transportation and treatment rate reaches 99.9%. The whole ward has more than 18,400 households, accounting for 91.8% of the total number of households classifying household waste at source.

However, the work of classifying domestic solid waste at source still faces difficulties, especially the infrastructure for collection, transportation and treatment is still lacking, not synchronized and does not meet the requirements. Garbage collection points in the area do not meet the technical requirements for environmental protection, the location is not suitable for planning, the area is small. Awareness of environmental protection and solid waste management of some agencies, organizations and people is still limited.

The People's Committee of An Duong Ward proposed that the City People's Committee soon issue the price of collection and transportation services for domestic solid waste according to the Law on Environmental Protection 2020; prioritize the allocation of capital for environmental protection works and solid waste management such as investing in the construction of waste collection points and equipment to ensure the classification, collection, transportation and treatment of waste according to regulations.
