The Vietnam Outstanding Bank Awards 2024, organized by the International Data Group (IDG), honored the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development ( Agribank ) with the title of “Outstanding Retail Bank.” This recognition acknowledges Agribank's efforts in development, innovation, and dedication to providing comprehensive, modern, diverse banking products and services that deliver the highest value to customers and society.

Developing a diverse range of products and services with the motto "Customer-centric": In retail banking operations, Agribank has marked a strong transformation by clearly defining its goal of developing a diverse range of products and services with the motto "Customer-centric". Leveraging its strong network of 2,300 branches and transaction offices located throughout all regions and uniquely in 9 out of 13 island districts; nearly 40,000 employees; and agency relationships with nearly 1,000 banks in 100 countries and territories, Agribank provides the market with more than 200 banking products and services, with many products and services in the following areas: capital mobilization, credit, domestic payments, international payments…

Agribank identifies "Customer-centricity" as the core principle in its product and service development strategy.

Agribank focuses on developing payment products and services for customers in a multi-channel, multi-utility manner, using digital technology platforms, integrating modern payment technologies in interbank payments, bilateral payments, and electronic clearing through centralized payment systems, card systems, and automated banking systems. Along with developing a diverse range of products, Agribank focuses on improving service quality and convenience, and reducing costs for customers by strengthening cooperation with corporations, conglomerates, Fintech companies, payment intermediaries, and e-commerce platforms to build a closed payment ecosystem serving the payment needs of e-commerce transactions, ensuring safety, speed, and security of customer information. This includes developing ATM, CDM, EDC/POS, E-banking, Agribank Plus, Core Banking systems, and improving payment business processes by simplifying procedures and transaction documents, and transitioning towards digitalization and automation.

Agribank is promoting the application of modern technology and digitizing its products and services to create favorable conditions for customers to use them.

With its mission as "The Bank of Farmers," Agribank proactively participates in and is the leading bank in implementing policies and programs directed by the Government and the State Bank of Vietnam regarding credit policies serving the development of agriculture, farmers, and rural areas. Agribank strengthens coordination with socio-political organizations such as the Farmers' Association and the Women's Union, forming over 60,000 loan groups with nearly 1.5 million members. It disseminates and raises awareness among customers in agricultural, rural, and remote areas about banking and financial products and services, retail banking services, and enhances understanding and the habit of electronic payments when conducting transactions for production and business activities. To facilitate quick access to capital for customers, Agribank continuously improves its lending processes and procedures, researches, implements, and applies technological solutions in the lending process to speed up processing time and minimize procedures. Applying modern technology, pioneering digital transformation: In the context of increasingly dominant online transactions, to develop retail banking services on a technology platform, Agribank focuses on promoting and leveraging the strengths of modern technology and developing convenient multi-channel, multi-platform products and services for customers. The new Agribank Plus version offered to customers is a digital banking application developed on a multi-channel technology platform to optimize the processing performance of the application on both mobile app and web channels. Many convenient features are available for customers to experience on Agribank Plus, such as money transfer, bill payment, online savings deposits, loan repayment, insurance, securities… and many other conveniences that customers do not need to visit a branch. To best serve the diverse needs and enhance the user experience for over 12 million customers currently using Agribank Plus services, Agribank has completed the integration of the Agribank Plus system into its payment gateway. This integration improves deployment speed, scalability, security, and user experience, meeting international security standards and achieving high performance, thereby increasing the number of transactions and the number of customers registering to use the service.

Agribank Plus - An e-banking application that provides a consistent and convenient experience for users.

In line with the modern trend of cashless payments domestically and internationally, Agribank offers customers high-end, modern service experiences, along with attractive promotional offers to encourage the use of cards for transactions and payments, such as: Success domestic debit chip cards; international credit cards from Visa, MasterCard, and JCB; and Loc Viet cards with superior features integrating both credit and debit card applications on a single chip... With a smart card in hand, customers can transfer money to relatives and receive it via code at Agribank ATMs; deposit money; open deposit accounts online conveniently and flexibly at Autobank CDM; pay for online public services, train and bus tickets, public transport; pay at gas stations; and other public services and utilities... By simply tapping the card on POS machines, customers can pay for shopping transactions, bills, and conduct cross-border transactions. Manage your cards flexibly right on your phone with the Agribank Plus app... In particular, customers can proactively make payments using their own funds with debit cards or spend now and pay later with various credit cards, with interest-free periods ranging from 45 to 55 days.

Experience Agribank Digital banking services.

With the application of digital transformation technology, Agribank Digital provides a full range of banking services, enabling customers to proactively access them automatically 24/7, quickly, safely, and securely. Customers without an account only need to bring their National Identity Card/Citizen ID Card and perform simple steps to quickly open an account at an Agribank Digital Banking kiosk. Once they have an account at Agribank, using fingerprint and facial biometric authentication, customers can conduct financial transactions (withdrawals, deposits, etc.) without needing a card or other identification documents. With key functions such as biometric identification and registration, online account opening, online banking service registration, online loan application, and biometric financial transactions like account deposits, payments, transfers, 24/7 money transfers, and savings deposits, Agribank Digital is a miniature banking model suitable for various locations, especially the agricultural and rural areas that Agribank serves. All transactions are automated with fast processing speeds and high accuracy, allowing customers to perform banking services as if they were at a physical branch.
Implementing the Agribank Development Strategy Plan until 2025, with a vision to 2030, Agribank aims to effectively fulfill its leading role in providing credit and banking services and facilities in the agricultural and rural sectors; diversifying products and services, focusing on developing modern products and services, and applying digital technology.
