The People's Police University football team is one of the newcomers to the 2nd Vietnam Youth and Student Football Tournament - 2024. In a practice match against the Banking University on the morning of January 3rd, these future police officers proved themselves to be a team worth watching with their strong attacking style and skillful play.

Major Nguyen Trong Nghia, coach and principal lecturer of the Armed Police Department, People's Police University, said: "The whole team is very eager to participate in the tournament. We are helping the students get used to and play more proficiently on an 11-a-side field. Because they have almost only played 7-a-side football before entering a tournament considered very professional for students."

In a training match against the Banking University team, a participant in the first tournament, Coach Nguyen Trong Nghia's players dominated the game and created numerous dangerous opportunities. Despite controlling the match, the People's Police University unexpectedly conceded a goal from a counter-attack by the Banking University.

Just minutes after conceding an unexpected goal, the future police academy players equalized the score at 1-1. Following this goal, the People's Police University players played much more fluidly, scoring four more goals in the remainder of the match. All of Coach Nguyen Trong Nghia's goals came from well-organized and fast-paced attacking plays. The People's Police University team could attack with quick one-two passes in the midfield or with very effective wing attacks.

Playing outstandingly for the People's Police University team is midfielder and captain A Quynh. He orchestrates the team's play and delivers incisive passes along with accurate finishing. Striker Bui Xuan Bac, despite his slender build, possesses skillful technique that complements A Quynh to create sharp attacking moves.
Banking University suffers heavy defeat in practice match.
"I'm very pleased that my players have gradually gotten used to playing 11-a-side football. Unfortunately, we are still missing a few players due to injuries, and we hope they will recover in time for the tournament. Since this is our first time participating and we don't know the strength of the other teams, our team aims to learn and try to qualify for the finals if possible," Coach Nguyen Trong Nghia humbly shared.

In the Ho Chi Minh City regional qualifiers of the 2nd Vietnam Youth and Student Football Tournament - 2024, taking place from January 6-25 at the Ton Duc Thang University football field, the People's Police University team will be in the same group as Van Hien University and Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry.
