According to Mr. Tuan, to ensure the safety of passengers' lives and property, the port authority has temporarily suspended the operation of ferry services from the mainland to Phu Quoc and Nam Du, and vice versa, until further notice.

According to the provincial meteorological and hydrological station, the weather in the sea areas of Rach Gia, Phu Quoc, and Tho Chau over the next 24 hours will have wind gusts of level 6, with thunderstorms reaching levels 7 and 8; waves will be 1-2 meters high.

Previously, from August 31st to September 3rd, Kien Giang province experienced heavy rain and strong winds, causing four houses in Go Quao and Vinh Thuan districts to collapse or have their roofs blown off. A barge carrying construction materials sank due to rough seas off Hon Tre (Kien Hai), leaving three crew members adrift, but they were fortunately rescued.

The edge of Super Typhoon Yagi (Typhoon No. 3) is making landfall, bringing heavy rain and thunderstorms to the North . Super Typhoon Yagi maintains its Category 16 intensity over the East Sea and continues to move rapidly into the Gulf of Tonkin. Affected by the typhoon's edge, the northeastern region of Vietnam, from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien Hue, will experience strong thunderstorms starting today.
