The Vietnam Specialty Coffee Competition - Vietnam Amazing Cup 2025 is organized by the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Association, Dak Lak province at the national level. This is one of the practical activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
The 2025 Vietnam Specialty Coffee Competition received 149 coffee samples registered for the competition from 70 organizations and individuals from 9 provinces and cities including: Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Dak Nong, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Quang Tri, Son La, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi . The total output of the samples was 245 tons, including 173 tons of Robusta coffee and 72 tons of Arabica coffee.
The highlight of the 2025 Vietnam Specialty Coffee is the record-breaking increase in the number of entries, for the first time a batch of Robusta coffee reaching 30 tons participated in the competition, affirming its practicality and high commercialization. At the same time, the participating coffee varieties are also diverse, such as Robusta coffee including: TR9, Thien Truong, Xanh dwarf; Arabica coffee including: Catuai fruit yellow, Bourbon, Typica, THA1...
The processing method is also unique with the appearance of many samples using the Red Honey technique which requires a high level of control.
The Organizing Committee selected 43/139 coffee samples that met specialty standards, including 24 Robusta coffee samples and 19 Arabica coffee samples, to compete for the Top 10 Robusta and Arabica in the final round of the competition.
The aim of the competition is to affirm the quality value of Vietnamese coffee beans; to search for and honor excellent coffee products from raw material regions across the country and to connect domestic and international producers, roasters, traders, and experts.
Interestingly, before announcing the results and awarding prizes, the Organizing Committee invited delegates to experience and enjoy the Top 10 Robusta and Arabica coffees in the final round of the competition.
