On November 29, the Department of Industry and Trade of Bac Lieu province organized the "Conference on connecting supply and demand of OCOP products between Bac Lieu province and other provinces and cities in 2024". The goal of the conference is to connect distribution systems, e-commerce platforms, key enterprises, supermarket systems inside and outside the province with OCOP entities of Bac Lieu province. At the same time, the conference aims to promote and introduce OCOP products, local specialties, seek joint venture partners, associates, cooperate to develop and expand to the markets of provinces in the Mekong Delta region, Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country.

Mr. Pham Van Thieu , Chairman of Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee, said that the OCOP program is a key program for economic development in rural areas towards promoting internal strength and increasing value. The program helps find important solutions and tasks in implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction for the period 2021-2025. The program has spread to many provinces and cities across the country, creating hundreds of thousands of products. To date, Bac Lieu province has 145 recognized OCOP products, of which 31 products meet 4-star standards and 114 products meet 3-star standards for 69 OCOP entities, 2 products of refined salt and Bac Lieu grain salt are completing procedures to request the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to recognize 5-star OCOP products. According to Mr. Thieu, besides the advantages, the implementation of Bac Lieu's OCOP program still faces many difficulties. Therefore, through this conference, we aim to introduce the image of the homeland and people of Bac Lieu. Promote domestic trade, create favorable conditions for units and enterprises to enhance exchanges, promote, introduce culture, potential strengths, and honor OCOP products. To further improve the quality and quantity of OCOP products of Bac Lieu province in the coming time, Chairman of Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee Pham Van Thieu suggested that local departments, branches and OCOP entities need to focus on promoting propaganda work. At the same time, promote digital transformation in promoting and promoting trade of OCOP products, connecting and promoting, trading OCOP products on social networks, e-commerce platforms... contributing to creating a spreading effect, enhancing the image of OCOP products and brands in the market. In addition, build and form separate and unique OCOP product distribution chains to create highlights and promote consumption of OCOP products. Promote activities connecting supply and demand, especially connecting right from the production stage, creating a connection between production and the market. In addition, support economic entities participating in the OCOP program to develop environmental protection plans during production and business, ensure food safety conditions, develop and register self-declaration of product quality according to regulations. In particular, identify potential products and advantages of the locality participating in the OCOP program. Call on and mobilize young people to participate in start-up models with agricultural products and products from the rural economy related to the OCOP program. Support entities to develop OCOP products in communes, especially remote communes, so that people have the opportunity to access and participate in the OCOP program.
