On the evening of October 28, the brocade fashion art program "Gia Lai oi" brought to the audience at Dai Doan Ket Square, Pleiku city a cultural space imbued with the identity of Gia Lai - the Central Highlands land where 44 ethnic minorities converge, with the J'rai and Bahnar being the indigenous peoples.
The program is part of the activities to promote and introduce Gia Lai brocade, organized by Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee in coordination with Vietmode Company Limited, with the artistic direction of designer Minh Hanh - one of the pioneers in Vietnam to design and bring brocade costumes to the catwalk at home and abroad.
With the participation of more than 100 artisans, Bahnar, Jrai students, artists, actors, and models, the program includes: Performances of Ao Dai collections, 4-season fashion collections Spring - Summer - Fall - Winter corresponding to the main color tones, inspired by brocade - the cultural heritage of the Central Highlands ethnic groups. Models perform fashion shows to the background of folk music with the Central Highlands' melody, with the accompaniment of artisans, actors, and dancers, recreating the cultural space and colors of brocade.

Known as the "Queen of Brocade", designer Minh Hanh has spent decades persistently researching materials and organizing fashion shows to spread the beauty of brocade and honor the traditional craft of many ethnic groups in the Central Highlands. With the desire to honor brocade and the people who have inherited and created this priceless heritage, designer Minh Hanh has brought ethnic minorities from the village to the art stage.
According to Ms. Minh Hanh, the program "Gia Lai oi" is a love song for this land, through which it conveys the message of preserving and promoting national cultural values. The costumes are designed in a modern style but still retain traditional features, bringing freshness and appeal to viewers.
With these meanings, "Gia Lai oi" is not only an art program but also a cultural event with profound meaning, contributing to the preservation and development of the cultural heritage of ethnic minorities in Gia Lai.
