DNVN - This was the speech of Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui Hoang Phuong at the 2024 Science and Technology Journalism Awards Ceremony, on October 24, organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology in Hanoi.

The authors won First Prize at the Science and Technology Journalism Awards.

Held since 2012, the Science and Technology Journalism Award has affirmed its role and position as a prestigious and increasingly widespread Award. Up to now, the Award has received positive responses from central and local press agencies with more than 8,000 works/groups of works in 5 types of journalism. The Organizing Committee has selected 271 excellent works/groups of works by authors/groups of authors to award the Award over the years.

In 2024, the Award continued to receive the participation of most central and local press agencies. The Organizing Committee received nearly 200 works/groups of works from authors and groups of authors.

According to the evaluation of the Judging Council, in general, this year's entries have comprehensively reflected all aspects of science and technology activities, innovation and digital transformation. The works have addressed urgent, popular and practical issues of economic and social life. Many works are highly appreciated for their quality, with topical themes, promptly reflecting the results of the activities of the Science and Technology sector.

The Science and Technology Journalism Awards Ceremony is an event to recognize and honor authors who have made efforts to research, discover, and reflect the results of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation, contributing to the development of science and technology in the country.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui Hoang Phuong said that the 2024 Science and Technology Journalism Award is not only an opportunity to honor outstanding journalistic works, but also an opportunity to look back on the past journey. The event affirms the great values ​​and extremely important role of the press in the cause of national development in general. Deputy Minister Phuong commented that in the context of implementing Resolution 57 from the Central to local levels, the press must be a pioneering force, a solid bridge between policy and practice. "Each work not only provides information but also needs to arouse confidence and awaken aspirations, encouraging innovation and creativity throughout the nation" - Deputy Minister Bui Hoang Phuong emphasized.

The Ministry of Science and Technology has approved and awarded the 2024 Science and Technology Journalism Awards to 24 journalistic works. The award structure includes: 4 First prizes, 5 Second prizes, 5 Third prizes and 10 Consolation prizes.

The authors/author groups winning the First Prize received the Cup, Certificate of Merit from the Minister of Science and Technology and awards. The authors/author groups winning the Second Prize, Third Prize and Encouragement Prize received the Certificate, Cup of the 2024 Science and Technology Journalism Award and awards.
