Ensuring legitimate and legal rights for workers in cooperatives

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - On April 24 and 25, the Thanh Hoa Province Cooperative Union organized a propaganda and dissemination of laws to employees and employers in cooperatives in the province.

Attending the conference were representatives of the provincial Cooperative Union and more than 200 delegates representing typical cooperatives in the area.

Currently, the province has 1,580 cooperatives in operation, of which 500 are members of the Cooperative Union. However, the number of people in the collective economic sector and rural cooperatives participating in social insurance and health insurance is still modest compared to the number of members and employees working regularly at the units. Therefore, organizing training on the Law on Social Insurance and the Law on Health Insurance in 2024 is of great significance, contributing to the propaganda and mobilization of cooperative members and people to participate in social insurance and health insurance, aiming to effectively implement the propaganda on the role, significance and importance of social insurance and health insurance policies in the system of social security policies, expanding the coverage of social insurance and health insurance, ensuring legitimate and legal rights for workers in cooperatives and people.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial Cooperative Union Le Hong Hai disseminated new points and changes in social insurance and health insurance policies of the Social Insurance Law and Health Insurance Law 2024.

At the conference, the leaders of the Provincial Cooperative Union informed and disseminated new points and changes in social insurance (SI) and health insurance (HI) policies of the Social Insurance Law, the Health Insurance Law 2024 and related guiding documents, including: New points related to the subjects participating in SI, HI, responsibility for payment, payment method, payment period, responsibility for making a list of SI, HI payments. Supplementing regulations on late payment, evasion of SI, HI payments and handling measures. New points related to social insurance regimes (including sickness, maternity, retirement, one-time social insurance, maternity for voluntary social insurance participants, monthly allowances for employees who are not eligible for pension and are not old enough to receive social pension benefits... New points on health insurance examination and treatment; regulations on health insurance benefit levels when performing health insurance examination and treatment; expanding some scope of benefits for people with health insurance cards... Regulations on implementing electronic transactions. New regulations related to the process and procedures for participating in and enjoying social insurance and health insurance policies...

The conference also promoted the role and responsibility of the Provincial Cooperative Union in leading and directing member cooperatives and cooperative unions to implement policies and laws on social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, etc. At the same time, it guided, consolidated, and organized cooperatives according to the Law on Cooperatives No. 17/2023/QH15; the preparation of production and business plans, amendments and supplements to the charter according to regulations.
