The storm has passed, but there is a risk of heavy rain and flooding.

According to the meteorological agency, storm No. 13 has weakened into a low-pressure area after making landfall directly in the South Central region of Vietnam, but the storm's circulation could cause heavy rains with the risk of flooding.

On the night of November 6, storm No. 13 made landfall in the two provinces of Gia Lai and Dak Lak , causing heavy rain and strong winds over a wide area before quickly weakening.

According to Mr. Mai Van Khiem, Director of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, early this morning, November 7, the storm's circulation reduced its intensity to a tropical depression and by 4:00 a.m. the same day, this tropical depression continued to weaken and gradually dissipate as it moved to the southern Laos region.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that from this morning to noon, the low pressure area will continue to move in a West-Northwest direction and will dissipate completely. Therefore, the meteorological agency has issued the final bulletin on storm No. 13.

Although storm No. 13 has dissipated, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting continues to warn of a high risk of heavy rain, flooding and landslides after the storm in the Central region. According to data from meteorological stations, last night, November 6 and early this morning, provinces from Hue to Khanh Hoa had heavy to very heavy rain, with many places experiencing rainfall exceeding 130mm.

Some locations measured exceptionally large amounts of rain such as: Son Hoi (Dak Lak) 208mm, Bach Ma peak (Hue) 204mm, Ba Na ( Da Nang ) 142mm, Tra Thanh (Quang Ngai) 138.8mm and Tan An 2 (Gia Lai) 154.8mm.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that in the next 24 to 48 hours, the area from South Quang Tri to Da Nang and the Central Highlands will continue to have rain of 20-50mm, locally over 80mm. From November 7 to the end of November 8, the provinces from Thanh Hoa to North Quang Tri are likely to have heavier rain, commonly 50-150mm, in some places over 200mm. The meteorological agency warned of the possibility of heavy rain of over 100mm in 3 hours, posing a high risk of natural disasters.

Although the Southern region is not directly affected by the storm, this evening and tonight, November 7, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, with rainfall of 10-30mm, in some places over 70mm, with the risk of local heavy rain exceeding 60mm in 3 hours.

From the night of November 8, heavy rain in the area from Thanh Hoa to Northern Quang Tri will gradually decrease, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.

Flood water of Huong River rises again

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the water level on the Huong River (Hue City) and Tra Khuc River (Quang Ngai) is currently rising due to the impact of heavy rain after the storm.

In the next 6 hours, the flood on the Tra Khuc River at Tra Khuc station will continue to rise, possibly peaking below alert level 3 and then gradually decrease. In the next 12 hours, the flood on the Huong River at Kim Long station will continue to rise and remain above alert level 2 by 0.55 to 0.65m, then gradually decrease. In the next 12 to 24 hours, the flood on both rivers will decrease, but will remain at a high level: the Huong River above alert level 2, the Tra Khuc River above alert level 1.
