According to the socio -economic report for January, the Ho Chi Minh City Statistics Office said that total foreign investment capital in the city from the beginning of the year to January 20 reached 125.7 million USD, equal to 70.2% over the same period.
Of which, in the situation of capital contribution, share purchase, and capital contribution repurchase, there were 136 cases of foreign investors contributing capital with 93 million USD, an increase of 70.1% in capital compared to the same period.
Of this, real estate business activities have contributed capital of 22 million USD, accounting for 23.7%. Professional activities, science and technology alone reached 57 million USD, accounting for 61.2% of total contributed capital. Singapore and Hong Kong have the highest contributed capital ratios, accounting for 72.5% and 10.1%, respectively.
Ho Chi Minh City also had 7 projects with adjusted registered capital, equal to 35% compared to the same period and the adjusted capital reached 8.9 million USD, equal to 23.7%. Of which, real estate business activities had 3 projects, the registered capital increased by 7.3 million USD, accounting for 82.4% of the adjusted registered capital. France had the highest adjusted capital, reaching 5.4 million USD.
There were 80 newly licensed projects, up 60% over the same period and registered capital reached 23.8 million USD, equivalent to 27.4%. Wholesale and retail activities, auto, motorcycle and motorbike repair with 53 projects, registered capital was 20.9 million USD, accounting for 87.7% of newly registered capital.
Japan leads in newly licensed projects with 8 projects, registered capital reaching 12.1 million USD, accounting for 50.8% of newly registered capital.
Regarding business registration in January, Ho Chi Minh City granted licenses to more than 3,300 enterprises with registered capital of more than VND39,000 billion, an increase of 30.2% in licenses and 117.2% in capital over the same period.
Of which, real estate business has 85 units and registered capital of 18,358 billion VND, an increase of 16.5% in licensing and more than 10 times in capital.
