The Hanoi Convention against Cybercrime is a very important step towards building a safer global community in the future, especially in the digital space. Cybercrime is a global crime, so only when countries work together can we respond effectively. And that is the greatest significance of this Convention.
Vietnam, by hosting the Signing Ceremony in Hanoi, not only demonstrates its role as host but also as a leading country in promoting the ideas and progress of the Convention.
I believe this is a clear demonstration of the image of a responsible, dynamic Vietnam that is ready to take on a leadership role on an issue of global importance.
I want to emphasize that cybercrime, although we talk a lot about technology and digital, is essentially a human crime, and above all, a moral issue.
When it comes to cybercrime, we often think of money, fraud, data theft, but behind that are real people who are hurt: Losing lives, jobs, families.
Cybercrime is no longer a theoretical problem but is present in many places around the world . Therefore, it is extremely necessary to fight this form of crime together. Vietnam, by hosting the Hanoi Convention, has shown a leadership and meaningful step in this effort.
How does the Ambassador view Vietnam's role in global efforts to prevent and combat cybercrime?
Like many other countries, Vietnam is well aware that to develop in the digital world, it needs international cooperation, technology development, infrastructure and equipment to serve human life. However, at the same time, these infrastructures can also be exploited to cause harm.
Therefore, it is important to focus on the positive aspects of technology, while preventing those who misuse it for bad purposes. We live in a digital age, and we need to ensure that technology is used to serve humanity, not to harm innocent people.

As the Ambassador of a world-leading technology country, what recommendations do you have for Vietnam to help strengthen its capacity to prevent and combat cybercrime and expand international cooperation?
Israel has a wealth of experience in both technology development and cyber response capabilities. We look forward to working closely with Vietnam to build a common platform to introduce and apply these technologies. Israel is also a frequent target of cyber attacks. Therefore, our technology has been tested in practice and has shown to be highly effective, although it cannot be 100% absolute.
Through cooperation with Vietnam, we hope to share experiences, improve the effectiveness and processes of preventing and combating cybercrime here, including training people, raising awareness, using technology for good purposes. Above all, I believe that no country can act alone, we need global cooperation. That is also the reason why the Hanoi Convention is of special importance.
To me, Vietnamese people, especially the young generation, are extremely enthusiastic, creative and eager to learn, especially in fields such as network technology, artificial intelligence (AI)... That spirit helps Vietnam become an ideal land to develop digital technology , because young people are always full of energy, and your country also clearly recognizes the importance of this field for strong investment and development.
How does the Ambassador assess Vietnam's preparations for the Hanoi Convention?
The event took place in a special year, when Vietnam organized many major activities, including the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Diplomatic sector (1945 - 2025) and National Day September 2.
Despite its busy schedule, Vietnam still played the role of host of the Hanoi Convention in a very professional manner. The opening ceremony was truly impressive with the participation of many delegations from all over the world, including the UN Secretary General and many high-ranking leaders.
Even delegations that could not sign the Convention due to ongoing internal processes still came to show their support for Vietnam and introduce their technology.
