On May 13, Nam Tu Liem District Police, Hanoi City, arrested Bui Minh Ngoc (born in 1984, a contributor to a magazine based in Hanoi) and Nguyen Trung Sang (born in 1979, Editorial Secretary) to investigate the act of Extortion.
Previously, on May 6, Nam Tu Liem District Police received a complaint from Ms. T. (an employee of Sunny Dental Clinic) about someone calling claiming to be a magazine reporter and writing an article that falsely reported on the dental clinic. After that, this person sent a link to the article, asking Ms. T. to transfer money to "remove the article".
On the evening of May 11, Nam Tu Liem District Police arrested Bui Minh Ngoc (residing in Nam Tu Liem District) while receiving 5 million VND from Ms. T. at Xua Coffee Shop (66 Do Duc Duc, Me Tri).
Conducting an extended investigation, Nam Tu Liem District Police arrested Nguyen Trung Sang (residing in Cau Giay District). Sang is the Editorial Secretary of the magazine where Bui Minh Ngoc works. These two people were arrested to investigate the act of Extortion.
