Military Hospital 175 honors the family of organ and tissue donors

NDO - On the afternoon of April 25, Military Hospital 175 organized a ceremony to express gratitude, share, and encourage the family of a patient who had just donated multiple tissues and organs to save lives. The patient's family's actions contributed to spreading the humane message about tissue and organ donation with the profound meaning of "giving is forever".

On April 7th, at Military Hospital 175 , the family of Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Phuong made a noble decision, a beautiful and humane act, to donate a part of her husband's body to save and revive patients, giving them the chance to return to normal life.

During the surgery, nearly 100 doctors, nurses, and technicians worked together urgently and successfully to remove two kidneys, a liver (divided into two lobes), a heart, and two corneas.

Major General Tran Quoc Viet, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of Military Hospital 175, on behalf of the organ recipients and the medical staff of Military Hospital 108, Hue Central Hospital, Children's Hospital 2, and Military Hospital 175, extended his most sincere and profound gratitude to the family of Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Phuong.

"You are courageous, loving, and selfless individuals whose decision to give not only changes the fate of the recipients but also illuminates the values ​​of life in the community," said Major General Tran Quoc Viet.

Major General Tran Quoc Viet shared that the hospital will always be ready to support Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Phuong's family with health-related issues or other matters if the family needs assistance. "This is our responsibility to express our affection and gratitude to the family through the most practical actions," Dr. Viet emphasized.

Major General Tran Quoc Viet, Director of Military Hospital 175, and the medical staff bowed their heads in gratitude to the organ donor.

Dr. Tran Quoc Viet also added that the organ recipients have now recovered and are beginning to return to their daily lives.

At the gratitude ceremony, Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Phuong (wife of the organ donor) emotionally expressed her thanks to the medical team: "Although they couldn't save my husband's life completely, using the most modern methods, the doctors somehow saved his life, allowing a part of his body to continue 'living' every day, fulfilling his last wish."

Ms. Phuong also expressed her wish to continue contributing to medicine so that she can share and help those less fortunate have the opportunity to regain their health and have a better life.

It is known that, in recent times, with the loving message of life "Giving is forever," tens of thousands of people nationwide have voluntarily registered to donate tissues and organs to save lives.
