Recently, on Facebook, some parent groups in Dak Lak posted pictures of lunch meals, with the content claiming that these were meals for students at the "most famous school in Buon Ma Thuot" - Phan Chu Trinh Primary School.

The photo of the meal with rice, stir-fried vegetables, soup, steamed egg and minced meat is considered quite small compared to the 37,000 VND that parents paid. Many people suspect the school of "cutting" the students' food portions.

Speaking with Dan Tri reporter, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet, Principal of Phan Chu Trinh Primary School, said that the school has reported the incident to the People's Committee of Buon Ma Thuot Ward and the Department of Education and Training (DEC) of Dak Lak.

Ms. Tuyet confirmed that the photo of the meal on social media was taken by medical staff and sent to the school's Zalo group to "show off" that students praised the meal on September 15 as very delicious.

"The photo is indeed of a school meal, but the quoted content is untrue. This meal was taken by a student while he was eating and was taken by a school staff member," said Ms. Tuyet.

According to Ms. Tuyet, the content posted stating that the meal cost 37,000 VND is not true. The school agreed with the parents to collect boarding fees of 820,000 VND/student/month (570,000 VND for meals and 250,000 VND for services).

With this fee, each lunch costs 15,000-31,000 VND, depending on the food, and a milk drink for afternoon snack costs 5,000-9,500 VND.

"The value of the meal on September 15 posted on social media was more than 22,000 VND, not 37,000 VND. The incorrect information caused the community to misunderstand the school's boarding work," Ms. Tuyet explained.

Phan Chu Trinh Primary School is sending a document to the police to investigate incorrect quotes about the school's meals on social media.

According to Ms. Tuyet, the school has not yet collected boarding service fees but is temporarily paying in full and waiting until after the parent meeting to collect.

"We did not plan to provide boarding services, but many parents requested that the school implement this so that parents can go to work without having to pick up their children at noon. Therefore, we have organized boarding meals for nearly 900 students," Ms. Tuyet added.

The school leaders are committed to issuing full invoices after each day of boarding to ensure transparency in revenue and expenditure and to allow parents to come to school to supervise all their children's lunches.

Mr. Luu Tien Quang, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province, suddenly inspected the kitchen and food rations at Phan Chu Trinh Primary School.

Through the actual inspection, Mr. Quang said that the food hygiene and safety work of Phan Chu Trinh Primary School regarding food supply, kitchen hygiene, food sample storage, feeding standards... are all ensured according to regulations and there is no basis for the school cutting down on food for students.

According to Mr. Quang, since the beginning of the school year, the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training has issued a document directing food safety, especially in boarding schools, and students' meals must fully comply with regulations.

"The Department of Education and Training will deploy a digital application so that all boarding schools in the province must update food, food portions, and public prices on the school's website and connect with the Department's system.

This is done to be public and transparent so that parents can conveniently monitor their children's nutrition and compare food rations between schools," Mr. Quang informed.

The Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province emphasized that if schools are found to be violating food safety and hygiene, cutting food rations or failing to ensure school hygiene, the Department will strictly handle the school principal.
