Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy visits, presents gifts and wishes a happy new year in Quy Chau district

On the afternoon of January 29, comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation visited and extended New Year greetings in Chau Hanh commune, Quy Chau district.

Accompanying the delegation were comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province; members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee: Nguyen Dinh Hung - Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office; Vi Van Son - Head of the Provincial Ethnic Committee; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, the Provincial Border Guard Command, the Provincial Military Command, the Provincial Police, the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, etc.

On behalf of the working delegation, the Provincial Party Secretary shared the actual conditions of the districts in the Western region of Nghe An - a large area with 11 districts and towns, especially in the mountainous districts such as Que Phong, Quy Chau, Con Cuong, Tuong Duong, Ky Son... people still face many difficulties and adversities.

Understanding that, in the process of economic development, the province always cares for and aims at the poor and those facing difficulties in life.

"Although the provincial, district, and communal governments and the entire political system have been determined to reach out to the poor and those in difficulty, they have not been able to fully meet the conditions and circumstances of the people," the Provincial Party Secretary worried.

Therefore, on the occasion of Tet and Spring, the activities of the provincial leaders' delegations towards the poor aim to contribute to alleviating difficulties; bringing affection and gifts demonstrating the nation's traditional morality of mutual love, loving others as you love yourself, the whole leaf covers the torn leaf, the less torn leaf covers the more torn leaf.

On the occasion of Tet holiday, visiting people, cadres and soldiers in remote areas, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy was pleased to see that Quy Chau district has implemented the general policy of caring for the poor, poor households and households in difficult circumstances in the area.

Economic development in Quy Chau district has made remarkable progress: total agricultural - forestry - industrial production value reached approximately 1,000 billion VND; growth rate reached 9% - higher than the average of the province; budget revenue reached the set plan.

“We are very happy to know that Quy Chau has 9 agricultural cooperatives, 7 craft villages and 3 villages with effective occupations, creating jobs, improving income and living standards for people and increasing budget revenue. Many products of Quy Chau that are on the market are well-received such as: incense, commercial duck;… From there, it helps the poor and poor households have the conditions to participate in production and escape poverty”, emphasized comrade Thai Thanh Quy.

Along with that, Quy Chau district also pays great attention to social security and health care for the people. During the year, with the support allocated by the province, the district coordinated with organizations and individuals to build 337 new houses and repair 130 houses for the poor.

In particular, preparing to celebrate the traditional Tet holiday of the nation, in addition to gifts from the province, the district leaders have also actively mobilized businesses and philanthropists to join hands to take care of the poor and poor households, so that everyone can celebrate Tet more fully and warmly, and no one is left behind.

Understanding and sharing with the poor and poor households, emphasizing that caring for the poor and poor households is one of the key tasks that the Party Committee, the government and the entire political system of the province pay great attention to; at the same time, the Provincial Party Secretary also expressed his hope that poor households would strive to take care of production and livestock, actively participate in craft villages to escape poverty sustainably, and have their children have adequate conditions for education.

Quy Chau district still has 32% of poor households, therefore, authorities at all levels must continue to pay attention to creating livelihoods and conditions for people to work and produce, and arouse the spirit of sustainable poverty reduction among the majority of people.

Along with economic development, Quy Chau district must regularly take care of social security work. This year, the Party Committee and the government of Quy Chau district are assessed by the province as having excellently fulfilled their tasks, but that excellence must be concretized in all areas so that next year will be more progressive than the previous year.

On the occasion of preparing to enter the new year of Giap Thin 2024, on behalf of the provincial leaders, comrade Thai Thanh Quy wished the people, officers and soldiers of the armed forces of Quy Chau district a new year of good health, happiness, prosperity and new victory.

On this occasion, the Provincial Party Secretary presented Quy Chau district with 1.4 billion VND to support the poor in the district to celebrate Tet and directly presented 100 gifts to the poor in Chau Hanh commune, including 1 million VND in cash and gift bags worth 200,000 VND/gift; presented 5 solidarity houses, each worth 50 million VND.
