On the afternoon of January 29th, Comrade Thai Thanh Quy - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation - visited and extended New Year greetings to Chau Hanh commune, Quy Chau district.

Accompanying them were Comrade Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province; members of the Provincial Party Committee: Nguyen Dinh Hung - Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office; Vi Van Son - Head of the Provincial Ethnic Affairs Committee; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department, the Provincial Border Guard Command, the Provincial Military Command, the Provincial Police Department, the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs…

On behalf of the delegation, the Provincial Party Secretary shared his understanding of the realities faced by the districts in the western region of Nghe An province – a vast area encompassing 11 districts and towns, especially in the high mountainous districts such as Que Phong, Quy Chau, Con Cuong, Tuong Duong, and Ky Son – where the people still encounter many difficulties and adversities.

Understanding this, during the process of economic development, the province has always cared for and focused on the poor and those facing difficulties in life.
"Although the provincial, district, and commune authorities, as well as the entire political system, have been very determined to help the poor and those in need, they have not been able to fully meet the needs of the people given their circumstances," the Provincial Party Secretary lamented.

Therefore, during the Lunar New Year, the activities of provincial leadership delegations towards the poor aim to help alleviate their difficulties; bringing affection and gifts that reflect the traditional moral values of the nation: mutual support, compassion, and helping those in need.
On the occasion of Tet (Lunar New Year), during a visit to the people, officials, and soldiers in remote areas, Provincial Party Secretary Thai Thanh Quy was pleased to see that Quy Chau district had implemented the general policy of caring for the poor, impoverished households, and households with difficult circumstances in the area.

Economic development in Quy Chau district has seen remarkable progress: the total value of agricultural and forestry production reached approximately 1,000 billion VND; the growth rate reached 9% - higher than the provincial average; and budget revenue met the set target.
“We are delighted to learn that Quy Chau has 9 agricultural cooperatives, 7 craft villages, and 3 villages with traditional crafts operating effectively, creating jobs, improving people's income and living standards, and increasing budget revenue. Many products from Quy Chau are well-regarded in the market, such as incense sticks and commercial Muscovy ducks… This helps poor people and poor households have the opportunity to participate in production and rise out of poverty,” Comrade Thai Thanh Quy emphasized.

In addition, Quy Chau district also pays great attention to social welfare and health for its people. During the year, along with the support allocated by the province, the district coordinated with organizations and individuals to build 337 new houses and repair 130 houses for the poor.
In particular, in preparation for the traditional Lunar New Year, besides the gifts from the province, the district leaders have also actively mobilized businesses and philanthropists to join hands in caring for the poor and impoverished households, so that everyone can celebrate the New Year more fully and warmly, and no one is left behind.

Understanding and empathizing with the poor and impoverished households, the Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that caring for the poor and impoverished households is one of the key tasks that the Provincial Party Committee, government, and entire political system are very concerned about implementing. At the same time, the Provincial Party Secretary also expressed his hope that poor households would strive to improve their lives through labor, production, and livestock farming, actively participate in traditional crafts to achieve sustainable poverty alleviation, and ensure their children have access to adequate education.

In Quy Chau district, 32% of households are still living in poverty. Therefore, authorities at all levels must continue to focus on creating livelihoods and conditions for people to work and produce, and to inspire a spirit of sustainable self-reliance in escaping poverty among the majority of the population.
Alongside economic development, Quy Chau district must consistently prioritize social welfare. This year, the Party Committee and government of Quy Chau district were assessed by the province as having excellently fulfilled their duties, but this excellence must be concretized in all areas so that next year will be even better than the previous year.

On the occasion of preparing to enter the New Year of the Dragon 2024, on behalf of the provincial leadership, Comrade Thai Thanh Quy wished the people, cadres, and soldiers of the armed forces of Quy Chau district a healthy, happy, prosperous, and victorious new year.
On this occasion, the Provincial Party Secretary presented Quy Chau district with 1.4 billion VND to support poor people in the district to celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year) and personally presented 100 gift packages to poor people in Chau Hanh commune, each package including 1 million VND in cash and a gift bag worth 200,000 VND; and handed over 5 solidarity houses, each house worth 50 million VND.

The Provincial Party Secretary presented gifts and extended New Year greetings to the Quy Chau District Police, Chau Hanh Commune Police, Quy Chau District Military Command, Chau Hanh Commune Military Command, and Chau Hanh Commune Party Committee.
