The locality has mobilized people and mechanical equipment for temporary reinforcement, but there is still a risk of another 527m of landslides, requiring 2.8 billion VND to completely handle. In particular, the Thanh Long islet dike frequently has serious landslides.
Kindly asking about the health and encouraging households affected by landslides, Provincial Party Secretary - Tran Van Lau said that after high tides and floods caused flooding, affecting people's lives, activities and safety, local authorities also quickly deployed timely response measures.
In the coming time, the Provincial Party Secretary requested the locality to continue to monitor and inspect the situation for timely handling. Working with the Party Committee and People's Committee of Quoi Thien commune, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Tran Van Lau highly appreciated the spirit and responsibility of the locality in the work of preventing and responding to landslides during the recent flood and high tide season. Quoi Thien commune has the characteristic of being an island commune, isolated from the mainland, so it still faces many difficulties in economic development and natural disaster prevention. The Provincial Party Committee Secretary requested the commune to continue to survey and evaluate each area specifically, in which priority is given to handling points with high risk of landslides, proactively preventing and responding early, remotely and promptly.
Provincial Party Secretary Tran Van Lau also reminded the locality to review households living outside the dike area at risk of landslides and encourage people to move inside the dike to ensure safety.

Regarding Thanh Long islet, it is recommended that relevant sectors and units study and develop a project to relocate people to the mainland and submit it to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee for consideration, in order to ensure the safety of people's lives and property; relevant units need to coordinate to strictly handle the situation of illegal river sand mining.
