Border guards help people control the fire on the fishing boat

On the morning of November 17, Major Do Van Lanh, Head of Song Doc Border Guard Station (Border Guard of Ca Mau province) said that the unit had sent 5 officers and soldiers to coordinate with local forces to support people in extinguishing the fishing boat fire, preventing the fire from spreading to other fishing boats.

Previously, at 8:30 p.m. on November 16, Da Bac Border Control Station (Song Doc Border Station) received a report from the people that fishing boat CM 05450 TS of Mr. Nguyen Van Quy (born in 1984, residing in Sao Luoi hamlet, Da Bac commune, Ca Mau province) was on fire while anchored at Sao Luoi estuary (Da Bac commune, Ca Mau province).

Immediately after receiving the information, the unit sent 5 officers and soldiers to coordinate with the Police, the Military Command of Da Bac Commune and the people to mobilize fire fighting equipment, and at the same time support the relocation of fishing boats anchored nearby to limit damage. By 9:30 p.m. the same day, the fire was controlled and extinguished.

The fire caused no human casualties; property damage on the ship was estimated at nearly 100 million VND.

Currently, Song Doc Border Guard Station is coordinating with the police to investigate and verify the cause of the fire and continue to support Mr. Quy's family to overcome the consequences.
