Every day, the 31st VB-KSQS Battalion maintains regular KSQS patrols outside the barracks, focusing on key routes and areas of the city. Along with the central political mission, the unit is currently striving to successfully complete the KSQS professional training course for Military Region 7, practicing gun dance performances to serve major ceremonies organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Command and superiors.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Duy Hoa, Battalion Commander of the 31st Military Police Battalion, said: “The unit has the task of being mobile and ready for combat, performing military police work, performing honor guard duties, welcoming and protecting domestic and foreign delegations visiting and working in the city... After Ho Chi Minh City merged with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau to form the new Ho Chi Minh City from July 1, 2025, the unit's mission area will be wider and more complicated. The entire Battalion has built high determination and comprehensively prepared all aspects of work to successfully complete all tasks in the new period."

Having worked at the VB - KSQS Battalion 31 for 2 years, Senior Lieutenant Bui Van Tien, Deputy Political Commissar of Company 2, shared: "The staff not only does a good job of managing troops, but also participates comprehensively in all aspects of the unit's work. We always promote a sense of responsibility, together preserving and promoting the image and cultural beauty of the KSQS troops, meeting the trust of superiors and the love of the people."

The 31st Military Control and Guard Battalion participated in the parade at the 2025 training launch ceremony of the Ho Chi Minh City Command.

In the first 6 months of 2025, VB - KSQS Battalion 31 organized more than 2,600 inspections and patrols with the participation of more than 4,900 officers and soldiers; inspected nearly 170 military vehicles, and disciplined many cases of soldiers and militiamen who did not follow proper etiquette when going out of the barracks. The unit has coordinated well with military and police units to contribute to improving the quality and effectiveness of work in the assigned area.

In particular, in carrying out the task of celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, the VB - KSQS 31 Battalion has successfully completed the task of guarding the ceremony platform; coordinating to ensure security and order in the area where the ceremony took place; safely escorting delegations of leaders of the Party, State, Army, and international organizations...

The unit trains soldiers in situations where they misbehave while performing duties outside the barracks.

Promoting the tradition of the Heroic Unit of the People's Armed Forces

Born in the context of the fierce and fierce resistance war against the US, VB - KSQS Battalion 31 has changed its name and designation many times such as: 31st Special Forces Battalion (in the formation of the Special Forces Command), Battalion 31 (in the formation of Brigade 195, Ho Chi Minh City Command), KSQS Battalion 31 (Ho Chi Minh City Command)... and from February 2024 to present, it is VB - KSQS Battalion 31, General Staff Department, Ho Chi Minh City Command. The battalion was honored to be awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces by the Party and State in December 1973.

Regardless of the task stage, the Party Committee and Command Board of VB - KSQS Battalion 31 are always proactive and responsive in leading, commanding and operating the unit to excellently complete all assigned tasks. For the past 3 consecutive years, the Party Committee of VB - KSQS Battalion 31 has achieved clean and strong status, leading the Emulation Movement for Victory of the Ho Chi Minh City Armed Forces for 2 consecutive years. In addition, the Battalion is also honored to receive many noble awards from the Prime Minister, the Ministry of National Defense, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the Military Region 7 Command, the Ho Chi Minh City Command, etc.

The battalion constantly improves the quality of command training to carry out its missions.

During these days, officers and soldiers of VB - KSQS Battalion 31 are enthusiastically competing in the peak "Raising the August Red Flag - Competing to Win 3 First Places", carrying out many meaningful activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, the 55th anniversary of the Traditional Day of VB - KSQS Battalion 31 (July 15, 1970 / July 15, 2025), welcoming the Party Congresses at all levels... The unit has organized policy activities, visited and presented gifts to families of soldiers in difficult circumstances; organized propaganda and education, watched traditional films to help soldiers become more attached to the unit.

Sergeant Phan Nguyen Hong Phat, Squad Leader of Squad 10 (Platoon 4, Company 2) shared: “Studying and working at VB - KSQS Battalion 31 is a source of pride for me. Recently, I had the honor of participating in the honor guard duty with the unit at the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification. My teammates and I will always strive to complete our tasks well to be worthy of the image of the VB - KSQS unit.”
