Teacher, military scientist with great contributions

Colonel, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duy Canh joined the army and has been attached to the military environment for many decades. During that journey, he has had more than 30 years of teaching experience - a journey long enough to foster the love for the profession, the perseverance and dedication of a military teacher. From a young lecturer, he gradually matured through many important positions such as: Company Commander, Head of Department, Deputy Head of Faculty, Deputy Brigade Commander, Head of Faculty, Vice Principal, and in December 2021 was appointed as Principal of the school.

Colonel, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duy Canh received a certificate of merit from the Minister of National Defense .

The academic career of Colonel, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duy Canh was built persistently and systematically. After graduating from the Engineering Officer School in 1995 and completing the Master's program of the Military Technical Academy in 2005, Nguyen Duy Canh successfully defended his PhD thesis at the Military Technical Academy in 2015. With exemplary conduct, sense of responsibility and strong political will, Colonel, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duy Canh always plays a core role in building the teaching staff, innovating the program, improving the quality of training in the direction of standardization, modernization and international integration.

In the eyes of colleagues and students, he is a close, sincere but profound person, always listening and spending a lot of time on education, motivating, shaping and inspiring the younger generation. That is the lasting quality of a soldier who has devoted his entire career to "cultivating people" in military schools.

Scientific and academic imprint

Not only an experienced teacher, Colonel, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duy Canh is also a military scientist with outstanding contributions. He is the head of a school-level project, the head of two excellent projects at the General Staff level, and one excellent project at the Ministry of National Defense level. These are works that contribute to the completion of theory and practice in the field of command and technical management of the Army. In addition, he also participates in many other scientific projects at all levels, making practical contributions to the process of building training programs and development strategies of the School.

Colonel, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duy Canh has edited many textbooks and monographs, which have become in-depth, valuable sources of documents and are widely used in training and research. With 25 articles published in prestigious domestic and international scientific journals in the ISSN and Scopus systems, he has affirmed his position as a military scientist who is in-depth, open-minded and persistent in research.

He also chaired and participated in the development of 11 training programs, many of which play a core role in standardizing the training of engineering technical officers in the period of innovation and digital transformation. He successfully guided one doctoral student and two graduate students, making an important contribution to the training of the next generation of scientific staff.

In teaching, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duy Canh has achieved many outstanding achievements: 3 times winning the title of Excellent Teacher at school level (2008, 2009, 2010), Excellent Teacher at Ministry level in 2010, twice being a Basic Emulation Fighter along with many certificates of merit from the General Staff and the Ministry of National Defense, clearly demonstrating the recognition of superiors for his efforts, dedication and expertise throughout many years of dedication.

Aspiration for innovation

Since taking the position of Principal, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duy Canh, together with the Party Committee and the Board of Directors, has synchronously deployed solutions to innovate education and training, digital transformation and build the School in a modern, standardized, streamlined and effective direction. Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duy Canh directly directed the implementation of resolutions of the Central Military Commission, the Engineering Corps and new-stage education development strategies; focused on investing in facilities and equipment; promoted the "Smart School" model; innovated teaching methods towards promoting students' initiative and creativity; and at the same time improved the quality of teachers and management staff according to modern military professional standards.

Colonel Nguyen Duy Canh received the Decision to appoint the title of Associate Professor.

Under his leadership, the School has continuously achieved many outstanding achievements, including two Emulation Flags of the Corps in 2024, Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of National Defense in 2023, Certificates of Merit from the General Staff in 2025 and the Fatherland Protection Medal in 2025. These noble awards are not only collective recognition but also reflect the leadership capacity, strategic thinking and sense of responsibility of the head of the School.

In 2025, he was recognized as Associate Professor of Military Science, majoring in Command and Technical Management. This is an important milestone affirming the academic prestige and stature of a scientist - teacher - military leader in the new era.
