Ministry of Transport surveys railway human resource training needs

The Ministry of Transport is surveying training needs to complete the Railway Human Resources Development Project, including high-speed railways.

The Ministry of Transport said that implementing the Party and State's orientation on railway development and the plans approved by the Prime Minister , the Ministry is developing and completing the Railway Human Resources Development Project (Project).

To have enough database for research to develop the Project, the Ministry of Transport requests training facilities, enterprises and relevant agencies and units to provide information on the training needs of railway human resources in various fields.

Specifically, there are 14 training majors that need to be surveyed at the doctoral, master's, engineer, worker/technician levels and training completion time.

In which, the major of Railway Transport Operation Organization trains in planning and organizing train operations; establishing railway systems (works, vehicles, equipment, organization of exploitation apparatus...).

The Railway Engineering major trains in construction and maintenance techniques of railway works: railway alignment (plan, elevation) inside and outside the station; foundation structure and architecture of railway floors.

The major in Railway Bridge Engineering trains in construction techniques, maintenance, and operation of railways.

The major in Railway Tunnel Engineering trains in construction techniques, maintenance, and operation of railway tunnels.

The Iron Industrial Construction major trains in building technological lines; arranging human resources, machinery, vehicles, equipment... to restore, manufacture, repair, maintain and service railway vehicles and equipment.

The majors of Railway Vehicles train on locomotives, carriages, and railway traction; Railway Information System train on information serving train operations, customer service information, internal information serving operations and business; Signaling System and Railway Operation Center train on train control signals, transport operation centers, etc.

Previously, the Ministry of Transport assigned the Institute of Transport Strategy and Development to preside over the development of a project on railway human resources development, including high-speed railways.

In particular, the Institute of Transport Strategy and Development estimates the total direct human resource demand in the state management, project management, consulting, construction and operation sectors for the construction and exploitation of the North-South high-speed railway at peak times is about 200,000 - 250,000 workers, including: 700 - 900 project management staff, 1,100 - 1,300 consulting workers, 180,000 - 240,000 construction and installation workers, and 13,880 workers in the operation phase.
