(NLDO) - Minister of Public Security Luong Tam Quang, along with leaders of Ho Chi Minh City, attended the conference to implement the 2025 work plan of the Ho Chi Minh City Police.
On the morning of January 5th, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department held a conference to summarize its work in 2024 and to implement the Resolution and Work Program for 2025.
Attending and directing the Conference were General Luong Tam Quang, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Party Committee of Public Security, Minister of Public Security; and Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.
The Minister of Public Security and leaders of Ho Chi Minh City exchanged views before the opening of the conference.
Also attending the conference were Phan Van Mai, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; Major General Dang Hong Duc, Deputy Minister of Public Security; and representatives from various agencies and departments.
Lieutenant General Le Hong Nam - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Department, chaired the conference.
The Minister of Public Security and the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee attended the conference on the morning of January 5th.
The conference aims to assess the situation and results of police work in 2024; summarize the "For National Security" emulation movement in 2024, reward collectives and individuals who achieved outstanding results in the past year, and launch the "For National Security" emulation movement for 2025 within the Ho Chi Minh City Police force.

According to statistics from the Ho Chi Minh City Police, the fight against crime has seen significant progress, from awareness to action, creating a continuous momentum in combating crime and contributing to curbing and reducing crime and violations of the law in various fields.
Leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Procuracy and other relevant agencies attended the conference.
Crimes against social order were significantly reduced compared to the same period last year (down 18.16%); street crime was strongly combated and suppressed (robbery cases decreased by 11.11%, with a 92.05% success rate ; snatching cases decreased by 26.92%, with a 91.61% success rate).
Regarding economic crimes, corruption, and environmental crimes, the police have uncovered and dismantled many large networks and organizations. Specifically, they have investigated and prosecuted 1,357 cases involving 1,467 individuals violating regulations on corruption, economic crimes, and smuggling, and 1,121 cases involving 1,138 individuals violating regulations on environmental protection and food safety.
Drug-related crimes and violations have seen positive changes with the motto "reduce demand, control supply". The police discovered 3,162 cases involving 8,163 individuals, an increase of 1,085 cases, or 52.24%, and seized over 1.14 tons of various types of drugs.
