Tran Thi Kim Anh, an 11th grade student, shared: "For many years, I have always considered books as my best friends. Outside of regular school hours, I often go to the library to read reference and advanced books to serve my studies and expand my knowledge. On average, I spend about 2 hours a day being friends with books."
The highlight of the school's reading movement is the "Books and Action" Club, which has been maintained regularly for over 10 years with more than 80 active members. Every week and every month, students get together to discuss good books, share their feelings, and organize storytelling sessions based on books. The club not only helps students practice speaking, writing, and critical thinking skills, but also arouses in each student a passion for books, forming a habit of reading regularly.
Teacher La The Thuong, Vice Principal of the school, said: The school has many creative ways to develop reading culture, such as organizing propaganda through extracurricular activities, displaying at the Book and Reading Culture Festival. Actively participating in the annual "Reading Culture Ambassador" contest, many students of the school have achieved results in this contest, becoming role models spreading the spirit of reading to their friends.
In particular, Bac Ninh Provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities and Bac Ninh Library No. 1 regularly coordinate to organize thematic talks and exchanges with writers and poets to inspire students' love of books and guide them in effective reading skills. These are meaningful activities, helping students understand that reading is not only about acquiring knowledge but also about cultivating the soul and personality.
Not stopping there, the school also pioneered in digitizing documents, building an electronic library, opening up modern and more convenient reading opportunities for students in the digital transformation era. Good lectures by teachers are posted on the electronic library for teachers and students to conveniently research, exchange, and serve teaching and learning.
From the simple pages of books in school, generations of students have grown up, carrying with them knowledge and aspirations to rise up. That is also a vivid proof of the effectiveness of reading - the power to enrich knowledge, nurture the soul, and promise to open up a bright future for students.
