Twin sisters both win the award for outstanding student.

Twin sisters Le Nguyen Linh Dan and Le Nguyen Linh Nhi (Nghe An) impressed everyone by both winning the same award for academic excellence in the same subject and at the same level in the same exam.

In the recent Trường Vinh ward-level excellent student selection exam ( Nghe An province) for the 2025-2026 school year, Le Nguyen Linh Dan and Le Nguyen Linh Nhi (9th grade students from Trung Do Secondary School) both won the consolation prize in Literature. They are also the only two students selected to participate in the Literature excellent student competition from Trung Do Secondary School. Currently, both have been selected for the provincial-level excellent student competition.

Speaking to VietNamNet , the two female students said they were very happy with their achievement. "The joy is multiplied because we both won the excellent student award and kept our promise to our mother," Linh Dan shared.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hang, mother of Linh Dan and Linh Nhi, said she was very happy and surprised that her two daughters won the same award for outstanding academic achievement.

Ms. Hang recounted that the twins were passionate about the "Brother Says Hi" program, and before the final performance, they wrote a heartfelt letter expressing their feelings and their wish to participate. "In the letter, they gave reasons to convince me and pledged to achieve high academic results. I was very happy that they were so determined to keep their promise," Ms. Hang said.

According to Ms. Hang, she is quite open-minded and not overly concerned about her children's studies or achievements. "Because they are twins, when one achieves something that the other doesn't, even though they might not show it, I don't want them to compare themselves to each other and feel sad. I always try to encourage them," Ms. Hang explained.

Therefore, the mother doesn't put pressure on her two daughters regarding their studies. "Instead of being strict and demanding, I choose to be supportive. I want to encourage and create opportunities for my children's interests and passions," Ms. Hang said.

The twin sisters are Linh Dan and Linh Nhi.

Sharing her learning methods, Linh Dan believes that to excel in literature or write beautiful pieces, one must first learn to feel with the heart. When reading a work, she always tries to put herself in the character's shoes to understand the author's emotions and message. Linh Dan also reads additional books and poetry to learn how to use words and express herself. Every day, she usually writes a few lines of her thoughts, considering it a way to practice writing and cultivate her emotions. "For me, the secret to learning literature is simply to read a lot, feel deeply, and write sincerely," Linh Dan shared.

Linh Nhi, on the other hand, says she always takes notes of beautiful sentences, lovely images, and insightful arguments. Gradually, these things help her improve and expand her vocabulary, and even her emotions. "Thanks to that, when I write, I find my writing becomes more natural and soulful," Linh Nhi said.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hang said that before this, her two daughters had achieved similar accomplishments.

Not only are they excellent students, Linh Dan and Linh Nhi have also achieved other impressive accomplishments. Both won prizes in the Nghe An Province Reading Culture Ambassador Competition in 2025, with Linh Nhi winning first prize and Linh Dan winning a special prize.

Ms. Hang commented that Linh Dan is very emotional and perhaps more mature than her.

"Linh Dan doesn't study much, but she always gets high scores in exams. Linh Nhi is very diligent and hardworking," Ms. Hang said.

Both children are introverted and rarely express their emotions outwardly. What makes her happy is that they are both quite independent and know how to manage the money given to them by their grandparents and parents.

Due to her busy work schedule, Ms. Hang said that the achievements her two children have made today are largely thanks to their grandparents' upbringing . “The grandparents have shown a lot of care, attention, guidance, and provided everything the children need. Every day, before going anywhere, they always make arrangements for the children first. Whenever they plan to go out, if they ask and know my husband and I are busy, they will not go so they can prioritize caring for and supporting the children. The two children are also very understanding and have a special affection for their grandparents,” Ms. Hang recounted.

Sharing their future plans, Linh Dan and Linh Nhi said they will focus on preparing for the upcoming provincial-level selection round for the gifted student competition. In addition, the two sisters will concentrate on completing their junior high school program and aim to enter the 10th grade specialized Literature class at the provincial-level specialized high school.
