Twin sisters win excellent student award

In the recent excellent student selection contest of Truong Vinh ward ( Nghe An province) in the 2025-2026 school year, Le Nguyen Linh Dan and Le Nguyen Linh Nhi (9H students of Trung Do Secondary School) both won the consolation prize in Literature. These are also the only two students selected to participate in the excellent student contest in Literature of Trung Do Secondary School. Currently, both of them are in the selection team to participate in the excellent student contest at the provincial level.

Sharing with VietNamNet , the two female students said they were very happy with their achievements. “The joy was multiplied when both of them won the excellent student award and kept their promise to their mother,” Linh Dan shared.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hang, mother of Linh Dan and Linh Nhi, said she was very happy and surprised when her two daughters won the same excellent student award.

Ms. Hang said that the twins were passionate about the show “Anh Trai Say Hi” and before the final performance, they wrote a letter expressing their feelings and wishes to be allowed to attend. “In the letter, the two children gave reasons to convince their mother and pledged to achieve high academic results. I am very happy because they were determined to keep their promise to their mother,” Ms. Hang said.

According to Ms. Hang, she is quite open and not too concerned about her children's studies or achievements. "Because I am a twin, when one of us achieves something that the other does not, even though they may not show it, I do not want them to compare and be sad. I always try to encourage them," Ms. Hang said.

That is why the mother does not put pressure on her two daughters in studying. “Instead of being strict and harsh with my children, I choose to accompany them. I want to support and create conditions for my children’s interests and passions,” said Ms. Hang.

Sharing about her learning method, Linh Dan believes that to learn literature well or write good pieces of writing, first of all, she needs to know how to feel with her heart. When reading a work, she always tries to put herself in the character's shoes to understand the author's emotions and messages. Linh Dan also reads more books and poems to learn how to use words and express herself. Every day, she often writes a few lines of her thoughts, considering it a way to practice writing and train her emotions. "For me, the secret to learning literature is simply to read a lot, feel deeply and write sincerely," Linh Dan shared.

Linh Nhi said she always takes notes of good sentences, beautiful images and sharp arguments. Gradually, these things help her improve and expand her vocabulary, even her emotions. “Thanks to that, when I write, I find my writing becomes more natural and soulful,” Linh Nhi said.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hang said that before this time, her two daughters had achieved similar results.

Not only are Linh Dan and Linh Nhi good students, they also have other impressive achievements. Both of them won prizes in the Nghe An Province Reading Culture Ambassador Contest 2025, in which Linh Nhi won first prize and Linh Dan won the Special Prize.

Ms. Hang commented that Linh Dan is emotional and perhaps she is quite mature.

“Linh Dan doesn’t study much but always gets high scores in exams. Linh Nhi is very hard-working and diligent in her studies,” said Ms. Hang.

Both children are introverted and rarely show their emotions. What makes her happy is that they are quite independent and know how to control how they spend the money given to them by their grandparents and parents.

Due to being busy with work, Ms. Hang said that the results that her two children have achieved today are largely due to the great education of their grandparents. “My grandparents pay a lot of attention, care, guidance and create all conditions for their grandchildren. Usually, before going anywhere, my grandparents often arrange to take care of their grandchildren first. Every time they plan to go out, if they ask and know that my husband and I are busy, they will not go anymore to prioritize taking care of and supporting their grandchildren. The two children are also very understanding and have special feelings for their grandparents,” Ms. Hang said.

Sharing about their future plans, Linh Dan and Linh Nhi said that they will put all their efforts into the upcoming provincial competition for excellent students. In addition, the two sisters will also focus on studying to complete their secondary school education and aim to enter grade 10 of the Literature major at the province's specialized high school.
