According to preliminary statistics from the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's petroleum exports in February 2024 decreased by 4.4% in volume and 6.04% in value compared to the previous month, reaching 217,430 tons, worth US$181.4 million. For the first two months of 2024, exports totaled 442,469 tons, worth US$372.9 million, an increase of 39.7% in volume and 29.4% in value.

Cambodia remains Vietnam's largest export market for petroleum products. In the first two months of 2024, exports reached 88,914 tons, valued at US$76.2 million, a decrease of 12.8% in volume and 19.09% in value compared to the same period last year, accounting for over 20% of total export volume and value. In February 2024 alone, exports reached 45,186 tons, valued at US$39.6 million, an increase of 3.1% in volume and 8.2% in value.
Following that, the Chinese market accounted for 9-10% of the total volume and value, reaching 42,230 tons and $40.2 million, an increase of 125.7% in volume and 113% in value; in February 2024 alone, it reached 14,432 tons and $13.5 million.
Exports of petroleum products to the South Korean market accounted for over 9-10% of the total volume and value, reaching 41,594 tons and $37.6 million, an increase of 43% in volume and 27.6% in value in the first two months of 2024; however, in February 2024, exports decreased by 31.8% in volume and 3.04% in value.
Next is the Lao market, accounting for 6% of the total volume and value, reaching 27,468 tons and $22.5 million, an increase of 165.9% in volume and 141.4% in value; in February 2024 alone, it reached 13,192 tons and $11 million.
Following closely behind are the markets of Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand, which account for only a small share of exports, less than 5% of the total volume and value.
