On the morning of December 29, 12th grade students of AM High School (Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong Province) held their first semester exams in Biology and English, with the Department of Education and Training of Binh Duong Province providing the exam questions.
Instead of giving out the first exam paper for Biology to students, the exam supervisor at AM High School mistakenly gave out the English exam paper for 12th graders.
After that, the exam supervisor discovered the mistake and immediately took back the English exam papers and distributed the Biology exam papers to the students. During this time, students were asked not to leave the exam room to wait for the exam supervisor to handle the matter.
The incident was then reported to the school leaders and the Department of Education and Training of Binh Duong province. In the afternoon of the same day, a number of high schools received a notice from the Department of Education and Training of Binh Duong requesting: "Stop marking English 12 and Biology 12 tests, only perform this task when there is direction from the Department of Education and Training".

Regarding the incident, a representative of the Department of Education and Training of Binh Duong province said that this was not an incident of leaked exam papers. The cause was a mistake by the exam supervisor at AM High School. After discovering it, the school promptly handled it to ensure the confidentiality of exam papers for students.
Late in the afternoon of the same day, the Department of Education and Training of Binh Duong province issued a notice to schools allowing them to continue grading the final exams of the first semester of the 2023-2024 school year for the two subjects taking place in the morning of the same day.
Previously, in May, the Department of Education and Training of Binh Duong province had to notify all 9th grade students to retake the second semester math test.
The reason for the re-exam is that Phan Chau Trinh Primary-Middle-High School, located in Di An City (a non-public school), organized a math test for 9th graders one day earlier than the general schedule. This revealed the exam questions, which did not ensure fairness for the students. The incident caused more than 20,000 9th graders in Binh Duong to retake the exam.
