Officials and people of Dong Da ward support people affected by storms and floods with more than 5 billion VND

During the recent storm and flood, the cadres and people of Dong Da ward unanimously joined hands with the capital and the whole country to share and support people in localities that suffered heavy damage from storms and floods.

On December 9, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Da Ward said that, in the face of the serious consequences of storms No. 10, 11, 13 with floods and landslides in the northern mountainous provinces and the Central Highlands, officials and people of Dong Da Ward have demonstrated the tradition of "mutual love and support" through two major relief campaigns.

Summing up the two campaigns, the whole ward donated more than 5 billion VND in cash and many essential items.

The first campaign (from October 9 to 24, 2025): The whole ward collected a total of more than 2.5 billion VND. Of which, Dong Da transferred 2.2 billion VND to the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the city, and at the same time, directly organized a delegation to visit and give support funds of 235 million VND to 4 communes of Hanoi that were heavily flooded, namely Trung Gia, Soc Son, Tien Thang, Da Ton (each commune 50 million VND + 1 ton of rice + 100 barrels of Lavie water). The following revenues were transferred to the city's relief fund with a total of more than 280 million VND.

Second campaign (from November 23 to December 8): The whole ward collected 2 billion 592 million VND. Of which, 300 million VND was transferred to support 5 wards in Quy Nhon, each unit received 50 million VND. The remaining amount of 2 billion 180 million VND was given to the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the city and more than 100 million VND was transferred to the city's relief account.

In addition to cash, ward officials and people also contributed 3.2 tons of rice, more than 300 boxes of instant noodles, nearly 150 boxes of milk, 80 boxes of clothes, and many other medical items to join the Hanoi city working group in Gia Lai to support the affected people.

These meaningful numbers show the deep sympathy of organizations, individuals, philanthropists, especially the high sense of responsibility of Party committees, authorities, Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations of the ward. Although the storms and floods have passed, the affection and support of Dong Da officials and people are still continued, focusing on helping people rebuild their lives.

Notably, Thai Thinh Secondary School with a total donation of 250 million VND in 2 rounds. The residential areas with the highest amount of donations are: Residential area No. 26 (183,750,000 VND), Residential area No. 10 (167,250,000 VND), Residential area No. 1 (145,470,000 VND), Residential area No. 17 (143,000,000 VND), Residential area No. 25 (133,010,000 VND), Residential area No. 35 (129,510,000 VND) and Phu Thai Group (100 million VND + 65 cartons of milk).

These meaningful contributions will help people in severely affected localities quickly overcome the consequences and stabilize development.

In recognition of these outstanding efforts and contributions, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city proposed the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee to award a Certificate of Merit to the officials and people of Dong Da ward for their outstanding achievements in relief mobilization work.
