On the afternoon of November 8th, in an interview with a reporter from Giao Thong Newspaper, Mr. Bui Quoc Thai, Director of the Kien Giang Provincial Department of Tourism, stated that they had received a complaint from Mr. Ha Tuan Minh, the legal representative of Vietnam Winner International Travel Company (Phu Quoc City).
"The stance of the Kien Giang Department of Tourism's Board of Directors is to work fairly and objectively, without cover-up. If the incident occurred as alleged in the complaint, we will take appropriate steps in accordance with the law," Mr. Thai affirmed.

Accordingly, the Inspection Committee of the Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee has also announced the establishment of a verification team. The Provincial Department of Tourism, under the direction of the Inspection Committee, will conduct an investigation and verification in the coming days to clarify the contents of the complaint, and a conclusion will be reached at a later date.
In his statement, Mr. Ha Tuan Minh said: "On December 4, 2023, Mr. Pham Xuan Nam, an inspector from the Kien Giang Department of Tourism, called me to ask for financial support for the Kien Giang Department of Tourism to organize some kind of conference."
On December 12, 2023, Mr. Nam called me via Zalo again, continuing to talk about the financial support, and then sent me the bank account number of a person named Nguyen Xuan Luy for me to transfer the money.
On December 15, 2023, after a phone call, I transferred 5,000,000 VND (five million Vietnamese dong) to the account provided by Mr. Nam…”.
According to the report, after the aforementioned transfer of 5 million VND, Mr. Nam repeatedly called Mr. Minh asking for "assistance," but was always refused because the business was facing difficulties.
Mr. Minh reported the incident to the Phu Quoc City Police. Subsequently, an inspector from the Kien Giang Department of Tourism called Mr. Minh to verify the matter, but everything went silent.
“On May 14, 2024, while I was on a business trip in Dongxing, China, Mr. Nam called again, asking me to buy him a phone. Because my work schedule was very busy, and I didn't have much money, I refused. After that, Mr. Nam kept calling me via Zalo, but I didn't answer.”
