Tan Cang Hai Phong International Container Terminal welcomes the 1 millionth TEU container

Welcoming the 1 millionth TEU container through 2025 is an affirmation of the outstanding exploitation capacity and service quality of Tan Cang Hai Phong International Container Port.

Delegates performed the button-pressing ceremony to welcome the 1 millionth Teu container passing through TC-HICT Port.

On the morning of October 17, at Lach Huyen wharf area, Tan Cang Hai Phong International Container Terminal (TC-HICT) under Saigon Newport Corporation welcomed the 1 millionth TEU container passing through the port in 2025.

This is the 4th consecutive year (2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025) TC-HICT welcomes 1 million TEU containers through the port.

The 1 millionth TEU container was loaded and unloaded on COSCO's CSCL EAST CHINA SEA.

The event of TC-HICT port reaching its 1 millionth TEU container passing through the port in October 2025 demonstrates TC-HICT's ability to overcome difficulties and challenges, its outstanding exploitation capacity, and its continuously improving service quality.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Doan Hai Tuan, Chairman of the Board of Members of TC-HICT, in the first 9 months of 2025, the unit focused on improving and enhancing its exploitation capacity. This was demonstrated through the clear change in the exploitation index.

Specifically, ship clearance productivity will reach 110 containers/hour (up 24% compared to 2024); berth waiting time will decrease from 26.5 hours in 2024 to 7.8 hours this year.

CSCL EAST CHINA SEA ship arrives at TC-HICT port.

The results achieved help TC-HICT continue to maintain its market share and cargo throughput and affirm its role as one of the ports with the largest cargo throughput in the Hai Phong seaport area.

It is forecasted that in the last months of 2025 and 2026, port operations will face many difficulties due to fluctuations in the international market and high competition among ports. Therefore, TC-HICT continues to improve and enhance service quality, promote the application of modern technology in port operations with the goal of focusing on customer satisfaction.
