Da Nang: Improving service quality at hotels

DNVN - According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang, constantly upgrading service quality and customer service is the core factor that determines the reputation, brand and sustainable development of each tourist accommodation facility in the area as well as the city's tourism industry.

At the seminar "Improving hotel management capacity and service quality for guests in tourism accommodation business activities in Da Nang" on the afternoon of August 28, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the city said that after the merger, Da Nang now possesses many outstanding advantages, core tourism resources, modern infrastructure and an increasingly complete service system.

The city currently has 2,365 tourist accommodation establishments (CSLTDL) with a total of about 62,000 rooms. In particular, the number of 4-5 star accommodation establishments in Da Nang is leading the country (164 establishments with more than 31,000 rooms), gathering many of the world's leading hotel management brands; nearly 700 travel agencies, including nearly 500 international travel agencies & branches.

In the first 7 months of 2025, the number of visitors served by tourism establishments is estimated to reach more than 10.7 million, an increase of more than 18% over the same period in 2024. Of which, international visitors are estimated to reach more than 4.2 million, an increase of more than 21%; domestic visitors are estimated to reach nearly 6.5 million, an increase of 17.1%. It is expected that in the whole year of 2025, the number of visitors served by tourism establishments is estimated to reach more than 17.3 million, an increase of 15% over the same period.

“However, in addition to rapid growth in scale, Da Nang tourism is also facing increasing demands for improving service quality, changing trends in digital tourism, green tourism, smart tourism and increasingly fierce competition between domestic and international destinations,” said Tan Van Vuong, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

According to him, in the face of existing difficulties and challenges, Da Nang tourism industry needs to have stronger changes based on the principle of ensuring sustainable development. One of the core values ​​that needs to be always focused on and constantly upgraded is the quality of service and customer service at tourist accommodation establishments. This is the core factor that determines the reputation, brand and sustainable development of each unit as well as the city's tourism industry.

At the discussion on the afternoon of August 28, state management agencies at all levels and representatives of about 350 tourism accommodation establishments in the area exchanged and shared experiences, current situations, difficulties and obstacles. At the same time, effective and practical solutions were proposed to improve management capacity and service quality in tourism accommodation activities, contributing to building the image of a safe, attractive, civilized and friendly destination.

Accordingly, CSLTDT need to consider ensuring conditions for tourism accommodation business activities; improving service quality and service quality as a key, regular task, associated with corporate culture, professional ethics and sustainable development strategy.

The leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang said that they will continue to strengthen inter-sectoral coordination to promote and guide to ensure a transparent, fair and effective tourism business environment. They will continue to work with the business community to remove difficulties; propose policy mechanisms, support training and education of human resources, promote advertising... to create favorable conditions for business development.
