Shrimp - rice plays a key role
According to the People's Council of Ca Mau province, by December 2025, Ca Mau has achieved 17/22 socio -economic targets according to the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council. The economic growth rate of the province is estimated at 8% over the same period (achieving the target set by the Resolution). It can be said that business activities have increased in all three economic sectors.

High-tech shrimp farming creates raw shrimp for export .
The economic structure has shifted positively, the total value of products in the province (GRDP) at current prices is estimated at more than 172 trillion VND, of which the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector accounts for 34.86%, industry - construction accounts for 24.23% and services account for 36.49% of GRDP; GRDP per capita reaches 80 million VND/person/year.
Regarding fisheries, it continues to contribute positively to economic growth. Total fisheries output for the year reached 1,268,500 tons (100.4% of the plan, up 5.6% over the same period). Of which, shrimp output is estimated at 594,851 tons (101.9% of the plan, up 5.2% over the same period).
In particular, in 2025, aquaculture will grow positively, many industrial models, super intensive farming, and high-tech applications will be expanded, helping to increase productivity and product quality. Many farming areas will achieve international certification (ASC, BAP, Organic) to enhance the Ca Mau shrimp brand. Total aquaculture output will reach 904,338 tons (reaching 99.6%, up 7.4% over the same period).
Fishing and aquatic exploitation activities in the province continued to develop, with a fairly high output, reaching more than 360,000 tons this year (up 1.2% over the same period). The province has resolutely implemented regulations on combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing, controlling fishing vessels, monitoring output, and tracing the origin of aquatic products to ensure compliance with regulations. The province currently has 5,253 registered fishing vessels with a total cumulative capacity of 808,604 KW, of which 100% have been equipped with VMS.
In the field of agricultural production, rice continues to be stable, Ca Mau promotes the implementation of the project "Sustainable development of 1 million hectares of high-quality and low-emission rice cultivation associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta by 2030", developing production according to the model of linking the construction of raw material areas and consumption of safe rice products and organic rice, research activities, application and transfer of scientific and technical advances are strengthened to help farmers reduce costs, increase output value, the whole province is estimated to reach nearly 2 million tons (reaching more than 102% of the plan).
Business development, export turnover increase
Based on the socio-economic development goals, Ca Mau identifies projects as the foundation to attract investment resources to implement key projects that contribute to promoting the province's economic growth. With the support of the Central Government, in 2025, Ca Mau has started many important projects such as: Ca Mau - Dat Mui expressway, traffic route from Dat Mui to Hon Khoai port and expanded Hon Khoai port; upgrading Ca Mau airport.
In addition, the province has inaugurated a number of major projects such as: Bac Lieu sports complex project; upgrading and expanding the Ca Mau - Dam Doi route, the bridge over Ganh Hao river, Phan Ngoc Hien square; the monument cluster "The train gathering to the North"... Total social investment capital in the year is estimated at 72,000 billion VND, reaching 100% of the plan.

The basic construction work has been focused on and directed resolutely. The province has established 4 monitoring teams in charge of monitoring, urging progress, and removing difficulties and obstacles for each project. Provincial leaders regularly hold regular meetings every 2 weeks, inspect the actual construction, and grasp the situation of each project. At the same time, they regularly review and evaluate the disbursement progress to adjust capital from slow-disbursement projects to projects with good disbursement progress and capital needs.
Investment attraction work has been implemented with attention by all levels and sectors. By December 2025, Ca Mau province had attracted 24 investment projects with a total registered capital of VND 8,356 billion. Up to now, there are 685 investment projects in operation, with a total registered capital of VND 329,861 billion (including 24 FDI projects, with a total registered investment capital of USD 4.8 billion, equivalent to about VND 113,484 billion).
Regarding business development, there were many improvements, the number of newly established businesses increased, with 1,600 newly established businesses during the year (exceeding 60% of the plan, up 62.44% over the same period), with a total registered capital of about 9,700 billion VND (up 54.5%). The rate of online business registration applications reached 100% of the total number of applications. The cooperative economy continued to develop, making a positive contribution to poverty reduction and job creation.
In 2025, Ca Mau province's export turnover is estimated to reach 2,600 million USD for the whole year (reaching 100% of the plan, up 6.4% over the same period). Of which, aquatic products are estimated to reach 2,416 million USD (reaching 100% of the plan, up 6.3% over the same period); fertilizers are estimated to reach 140 million USD (reaching 100% of the plan, up 3.5% over the same period); other goods are estimated to reach 44 million USD (reaching 100% of the plan, up 21% over the same period); total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue are estimated to reach 206,000 billion VND for the whole year (reaching 100% of the plan, up 9.4% over the same period).
