Deputy Director Luu Manh Tuong presents appointment decisions to Deputy Directors of Customs Branches of Region XX |
At the Conference, the Organizing Committee announced Decision No. 966/QD-BTC dated March 5, 2025 of the Minister of Finance on the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Regional Customs Branch under the Customs Department (Ministry of Finance).
Accordingly, after the reorganization, the Customs Department has 20 affiliated branches nationwide. Of which, the Customs Branch of Region XX is headquartered in Dong Thap, performing the task of state management of customs in Dong Thap, An Giang and Kien Giang.
The conference also announced the Decision to appoint the Head of the Customs Branch of Region XX. Accordingly, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Sang, Deputy Director of the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Customs Department was appointed to hold the position of Head of the Customs Branch of Region XX.
At the Conference, the Organizing Committee announced Decision No. 57/QD-CHQ dated March 5, 2025 of the Director of the Customs Department on the appointment and transfer of the Deputy Director of the Customs Branch of Region XX.
Appointing and temporarily transferring 5 civil servants to the position of Deputy Head of the Customs Branch of Region XX, including: Mr. Truong Minh An, Director of Kien Giang Customs Department; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Toan, Director of An Giang Customs Department; Mr. Luu Tuan Binh, Deputy Director of An Giang Customs Department; Mr. Dang Van Tien, Deputy Director of Dong Thap Customs Department and Ms. Bui Thi Thuy Giang, Deputy Director of Kien Giang Customs Department. The decision takes effect from March 15, 2025.

Representing the Deputy Heads of the Department who have just been awarded the appointment decision, Mr. Dang Van Tien expressed his gratitude to the leaders of the Ministry of Finance, the Party Committee, and the Board of Directors of the Customs Department for their trust and decision to assign tasks to the 5 comrades.
“We are well aware that: This is an honor, a source of pride, but at the same time a great responsibility for each of us, especially in the context of taking on new responsibilities with a workload, human resources and a wide and large area of operation 3 times larger than before - with a border of more than 200 km, many new tasks and tasks are being posed to us - such as the centralized customs clearance model, digital customs" - Deputy Director of the Department Dang Van Tien emphasized, at the same time giving a specific action plan.
In particular, we will constantly strive to study and practice to improve our professional capacity and political courage to meet the requirements of new tasks. We will build and maintain solidarity and unity within the Department's leadership and Party Committee to successfully complete the assigned political tasks - including focusing on synchronously implementing solutions to facilitate trade activities, especially developing border trade on the basis of compliance with the law; effectively implementing solutions to collect the state budget in 2025 and the following years.
Actively coordinate closely with the functional forces of the 3 Provinces in applying professional customs control measures to prevent smuggling, trade fraud, illegal transportation of goods and drugs across the border, ensure safety and security of border gates, and contribute to ensuring border security and sovereignty.
In performing the task, it must ensure compliance with the regulations of the Industry; at the same time, it must advise the People's Committees of 3 provinces: Dong Thap, An Giang and Kien Giang in performing the task of local socio-economic development.
At the conference, Deputy Director Luu Manh Tuong briefed on a number of key tasks and work on preventing smuggling and trade fraud in the management area of the XX Regional Customs Branch.
