According to the UBS Billionaire Ambition Report released on December 4, in 2025, the spouses and children of billionaires will inherit the most wealth since statistics began in 2015.

The Swiss bank said that in the 12 months to April 2025, 91 people became billionaires through inheritance, receiving a total of $298 billion, up more than 30% from the same period in 2024.

UBS CEO Benjamin Cavalli said it was evidence that a years-long wealth transfer process was accelerating.

The report is based on a survey of some of UBS's ultra-rich clients and a database that tracks billionaire wealth in 47 markets across all regions of the world .

According to UBS calculations, the children of billionaires will inherit at least $5.9 trillion in the next 15 years. UBS estimates that the majority of these inheritances will be concentrated in the US, followed by India, France, Germany and Switzerland.

However, the search for a better quality of life, geopolitical concerns and tax considerations are driving the decisions about where billionaires reallocate their wealth.
