Admire Suoi Thau - a beautiful steppe like Europe in Ha Giang

(Dan Tri) – Suoi Thau grassland leaves a strong impression on visitors with its rocky mountain scenery, terraced fields and vast array of flowers (buckwheat flowers, canola flowers, cockscomb flowers, etc.).

Located about 5km from Coc Pai town (Xin Man district, Ha Giang province), at an altitude of over 1,200m above sea level, Suoi Thau grassland is an attractive destination for tourists when coming to the western region of Ha Giang province.

Dang Doan Sang (30 years old, in Hanoi ) came to Suoi Thau grassland (Xin Man district, Ha Giang province) in the last week of October.

The wild, rustic but equally majestic scenery of the grasslands in the west of Ha Giang makes the male tourist temporarily forget all the troubles of life.

From Hanoi, Doan Sang took a sleeper bus to Bac Ha ( Lao Cai province), then rented a motorbike to travel another 30km to Suoi Thau. According to Sang, tourists can also choose the Hanoi - Xin Man bus route, from Xin Man they rent a motorbike to Suoi Thau.

“I chose to travel from Bac Ha to Suoi Thau because of the impression of the winding passes, the romantic scenery with clouds floating around the mountain tops and the pine forests on both sides,” Doan Sang shared.

Suoi Thau grassland is lush with rocky mountains, terraced fields and a myriad of flowers (buckwheat flowers, canola flowers, cockscomb flowers...).

According to Doan Sang, Suoi Thau grassland has many beautiful flower gardens. The entrance fee to each flower garden is 20,000 VND/person. Visitors should prepare cash because many flower gardens cannot be paid via QR code (bank account barcode).

Ha Giang is in buckwheat season. The flower has tiny pink flowers and is grown on many hillsides, creating a vast, romantic scene.

Tourist services here are still quite primitive. People set up a few stalls selling drinks and renting traditional costumes at reasonable prices.

“There are no restaurants in this area. Tourists should eat in Coc Pai town 3km away or Nan Ma market 2km away and then move to the grassland to play,” the male tourist advised.

From his experience traveling to Suoi Thau, the male tourist said that the motorbike route from Bac Ha to Suoi Thau is quite easy to travel. However, when looking up Google Maps, tourists should choose the directions for cars to avoid the trails that are too small and difficult to navigate.

According to locals, Suoi Thau is most beautiful from October to December every year. Tourists should visit at this time to fully admire the beauty of the land likened to "Europe" in Ha Giang.
