On the morning of April 10, 2024, Viettel Hoa Lac Data Center of Viettel Military Industry and Telecommunications Group was officially opened. Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung affirmed that investment in digital infrastructure is essential and vital for network operators, and is the new mission of network operators for the country's development.
The Minister congratulated Viettel Group on the opening of a new Data Center in Hoa Lac with large capacity, meeting international standards, and specially designed to meet AI infrastructure, green technology applications, and energy saving.

The Minister pointed out that Vietnam's digital infrastructure needs to be prioritized for investment, modernization and being one step ahead to promote digital transformation, digital economy and digital society. The revised Law on Telecommunications, effective from July 1, 2024, has officially mentioned the concept of digital infrastructure, making Vietnam one of the first countries in the world to include digital infrastructure in the Law.
The Minister emphasized that data infrastructure is the most important component of digital infrastructure, so network operators must take the lead in data infrastructure. This is a new investment area for telecommunications network operators. In addition, attention must be paid to cloud development and cloud leasing. Every 3 years, the world's data doubles. In Vietnam, the growth rate of data is even faster.

According to Minister Nguyen Manh Hung, Viettel Hoa Lac Data Center is not only a new project of Viettel but also a symbol of pioneering, development and progress in the field of new technology, a testament to Viettel's commitment to building Vietnam's digital infrastructure to international standards.

The Minister hopes that Viettel and other telecommunications carriers have the right vision for national data infrastructure to turn Vietnam into the world's digital hub in the near future.
In the context of the strong development of the digital revolution, the development of data infrastructure must pay special attention to protecting national data sovereignty and protecting personal data. Building a safe, reliable, and highly secure data center, using the most advanced technology to make an important contribution to protecting national data sovereignty.
The Minister also called on Vietnamese organizations and businesses to increase the use of Vietnamese data services and cloud computing services because these services have met strict international standards and the prices are also very affordable and suitable.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and General Director of Viettel Group, affirmed that Viettel will continue to invest in data centers, leading in green transformation commitments and energy management standards. Over the years, Viettel has participated in the process of creating an explosion in the IT&T industry, contributing to the mobile revolution. Viettel will continue to contribute to the cloud computing explosion, popularizing data infrastructure, and developing the country's digital economy./.
