Over the years, the flood reduction work of An Khe-Ka Nak Hydropower Company has made an important contribution to protecting the lives and property of people in the downstream area, minimizing damage caused by floods.
In particular, the operation process always has close coordination with the Gia Lai Provincial Civil Defense Command and local authorities, ensuring timely and transparent information to the people.
Up to now, after nearly 15 years of operation (2011-2025), both An Khe and Ka Nak reservoirs have not had any dam safety incidents. This is a clear demonstration of the proactive, methodical and serious management and operation work.

With the motto "Proactive prevention - Timely response - Quick recovery", from the beginning of 2025, the Company has completed the Command Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue (PCTT and TKCN); reviewed response plans and organized PCTT and TKCN drills; disseminated to people flood control commands and flood disaster response situations.
Along with that, coordinate with local authorities and functional agencies to inspect flood escape corridors, strengthen inspection of dam safety, monitoring systems, traffic routes, and spillways; maintain flood warning systems in the downstream areas of dams, as well as prepare adequate supplies and spare equipment to be proactive in all tasks.

The company regularly updates hydrometeorological forecasts, closely monitors weather developments and flood situations, and closely coordinates with hydrometeorological forecasting agencies to proactively develop flood control plans.
At the same time, promptly report to the Gia Lai Provincial Civil Defense Command to direct the operation and regulation of reservoirs; always strictly comply with the inter-reservoir operation process on the Ba River basin issued by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 878/QD-TTg dated July 18, 2018 and the single-reservoir operation process issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in Decision No. 67/QD-BCT dated January 20, 2022; closely monitor and comply with the flood water level elevation to be ready for the task of operating, regulating, cutting and reducing floods for the downstream area...

In addition, the Company has upgraded the SCADA and DCS (Distributed Control System) systems to allow remote monitoring and control of generators, minimizing risks during operation and maximizing output.
This is a specialized control-monitoring-automation solution for factories, contributing to smart operation, increasing production efficiency, increasing accuracy in flow calculation and flood forecasting. Thanks to that, flood warning time for downstream is shortened, ensuring high reliability.
Along with PCTT and TKCN work, the Company always focuses on the task of protecting the ecological environment, considering this a long-term responsibility associated with the development of the unit and the community.
Accordingly, from the beginning of 2025 up to now, the Company has regularly implemented practical action programs for the green environment such as "Volunteer Saturday", "Green Sunday", "Greening the factory - Greening the reservoir" ... Thereby, mobilizing officers and employees to clean the factory premises and surrounding residential areas; collecting and treating waste in the factory area, lake shore and downstream to keep the water source clean; dredging streams and canals to ensure drainage, prevent blockages and limit flooding.
At the same time, coordinate with local authorities and the community to plant trees around the reservoir, contributing to preventing erosion, protecting the lake banks, creating a green, clean and beautiful landscape; regularly clean up and improve the aquatic ecosystem.
The An Khe-Ka Nak Lake water environment monitoring system is operated regularly, continuously monitoring the water quality. Monitoring results are periodically reported to State management agencies according to regulations, ensuring transparency, objectivity and demonstrating commitment to responsibility in environmental protection.

The Company's environmental protection activities not only bring direct benefits in protecting landscapes, flows and ecosystems, but also contribute to improving the quality of life for downstream communities, raising awareness of responsibility for protecting nature in each officer, worker and employee, effectively implementing the sustainable development goals of EVNGENCO2 and Vietnam Electricity Group; linking electricity production with social and environmental responsibility.
Promoting EVNGENCO2's core values of Trust-Quality-Pioneering, the Company constantly strives for the goal of safe operation, environmental protection and sustainable development.
