The two units coordinate in ensuring the quality and safety of functional foods and fortified foods throughout the system, protecting public health.
Not only business, Long Chau is dedicated to the mission of serving community health.
Stemming from the awareness of joining hands to protect public health, actively responding to the Government's major policy in the fight against counterfeit and poor quality goods, Long Chau pharmacy system has proactively signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene Control - Ministry of Health to strictly test all products sold in the system.

With more than 2,200 pharmacies operating in all provinces and cities nationwide by June 2025, Long Chau is constantly striving to improve the quality of its products and services, adhering to the principle of "right medicine, right time, right place, right person". The cooperation is also a driving force for businesses to strictly control input sources, protect brand reputation, and ensure that each product reaching consumers meets quality standards.
Accordingly, the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene Control will periodically or suddenly take samples and test functional food products and micronutrient-fortified foods that the Long Chau pharmacy system is or will be trading, thereby certifying and assessing the quality of products brought to the market.
Cooperating with the National Institute for Food Safety Control is the next step in the campaign "Transparent origin for a healthy Vietnam" that Long Chau is implementing, while responding to the direction of the Ministry of Health on publicizing and transparent information on medicines and health protection foods.
Join forces to "double check" with the highest level food testing unit of the health sector to control product quality right from the input stage.
It is known that in Vietnam there are currently more than 200 different food safety testing agencies, including both state agencies and designated private units. In this system, the National Institute for Food Safety Testing, Ministry of Health is the highest level food testing agency of the health sector. Notably, the Institute also plays the role of national referee in the field of food safety and hygiene quality testing. This is a unit that owns technical infrastructure, a synchronous and modern equipment system and a team of experienced and highly qualified human resources to perform testing, certification, appraisal, system assessment, research and training services related to food.
According to the agreement between the two parties, the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene Control will send a specialized department to collect samples at the pharmacy or from the supplier. After that, the Institute will apply professional expertise to test the product, or appraise the product batch according to regulations or evaluate the product certification.
At the event, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Cao Son, Deputy Director of the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene, shared that this is an important milestone in the cooperation between the two parties: the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene and FPT Long Chau Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company.
Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Cao Son, Deputy Director of the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene Control, spoke at the event.
The Deputy Director emphasized: " Through the signing of the Cooperation Agreement, the two units affirm their common commitment to ensuring the quality and safety of functional foods and micronutrient-fortified foods. The National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene Control is the highest-level testing unit of the health sector and is the referee testing unit in the field of food safety nationwide. The Long Chau pharmacy system, with its presence throughout the country, in addition to distributing pharmaceutical products, is also a direct distributor of functional foods and micronutrient-fortified foods to consumers. Therefore, ensuring that the products distributed at the Long Chau pharmacy system meet the requirements of quality and safety is extremely important.
In the recent past, both sides have discussed cooperation contents. Cooperation is not only limited to sampling, periodic testing or certification activities, shipment inspection and quality management system assessment according to standards such as ISO 22000, HACCP... but also includes research, training and digital transformation activities. These activities help both sides move towards creating a reliable database system, helping to retrieve information, ensuring transparency in product quality control .
At the ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Bach Diep, Chairman and General Director of Long Chau pharmacy system, sincerely thanked the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene Control - Ministry of Health. Through that, she also shared: " We understand that when coming to a pharmacy, what people want most is a sense of security, and Long Chau is responsible for bringing that. With more than 2,200 pharmacies nationwide, we are not only a place to provide products but also the first place people come to when they need health care. Therefore, proactively cooperating with the National Institute for Food Safety and Hygiene Control - the highest inspection unit of the health sector, to regularly check product quality is what we see as necessary and must do. In the coming time, Long Chau will continue to improve transparency, from product origin, legal documents, to publicizing information on invoices as well as the system's online platforms. People can easily look up, check and give feedback at any time. It is the trust of customers that motivates us to constantly improve and do better every day ".

Within the framework of cooperation, the Institute takes on the role of "quality assurance expert" for the Long Chau pharmacy system. Thereby, a team of leading experts from the Ministry of Health directly participates in the product testing process right from the input stage for pharmaceutical retail units. At the same time, both units will coordinate to implement digital transformation of healthcare, helping to optimize management, information storage as well as improve and enhance service quality and user experience.
Through this cooperation, Long Chau will conduct "double checks": checking documents according to legal regulations, specifically Decree 15, and regularly and continuously inspecting actual product quality at pharmacies and suppliers before the products reach consumers.
This is a consistent step demonstrating Long Chau's commitment to transparency in the supply chain, raising quality standards and putting consumer health at the center.
Transparency of origin for a healthy Vietnam
Previously, Long Chau proactively launched the campaign "Transparent origin for a healthy Vietnam" following the latest directive of the Drug Administration of Vietnam (Ministry of Health). Accordingly, the system has pioneered in making the origin of pharmaceutical products transparent and integrating the function of looking up the registration certificate of functional food products throughout the system. The Ministry of Health also recommends that people should only buy medicine at legal pharmacies with full certification and transparent information to ensure the quality of the medicine.
Not only is information transparent through invoices, Long Chau Pharmacy's website and application system is also updated synchronously to support people to look up product information quickly and accurately anytime, anywhere before making a purchase. Specifically, on the pharmacy's online platforms, all information related to drugs and functional foods is clearly disclosed.
- For functional foods, the system fully displays the product registration number and the product declaration registration receipt - a mandatory requirement under Decree 15, health protection foods (or commonly known as functional foods by users) must be granted a product declaration registration receipt by the Food Safety Department before being circulated on the market. In addition, important information such as ingredients, uses, recommended use, place of manufacture and advertising content confirmation number (if any) are also provided transparently, helping consumers feel secure in choosing the right product.
- For pharmaceutical products, users can easily track the place of manufacture and drug registration number on the Long Chau Pharmacy website and application and receive instructions on how to look up the registration number directly on the Online Public Service Portal of the Department of Drug Administration.
Thus, by simply accessing the website https://nhathuoclongchau.com.vn/ or the Long Chau Pharmacy application, users can easily access accurate information as well as check product quality before, during and after purchase.
Each qualified product, each strict testing step is a practical action demonstrating Long Chau's dedication to the mission of caring for community health. More than business, it is a journey to join hands for an increasingly healthier Vietnam.
