Lionel Messi left PSG last summer. During his final spell at the Paris club, the Argentine superstar was treated quite badly by the club's fans. Messi recently admitted that he did not want to spend his time at PSG.

El Pulga shared: "As I said, moving to Paris was not something I wanted. I really didn't want to leave Barcelona. I just tried to get by day by day. I had to adapt to a completely different place to where I had lived for a long time, both in terms of the city and the football aspect.
Everything at PSG was difficult. This is the complete opposite of what happened at Inter Miami."
PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi has criticized Messi for disrespecting the club, saying: "Messi should have spoken about this while he was still in Paris, not elsewhere.
I have a lot of respect for Messi but when someone speaks badly about PSG after leaving, it's not good. It's disrespectful to the team. Messi is not a bad person but I don't like his statements."
The PSG chief also addressed the future of Mbappe, whose contract with the club expires in June 2024. Nasser Al-Khelaifi added: "I want Mbappe to stay at PSG. He is an excellent player and PSG is the best club for him. Mbappe is at the heart of our project.

We worked hard. There were mistakes but that's normal. Now PSG has a young team with many local players. We are not in a hurry because this is a long-term project.
The team's leadership will build a strong, cohesive team. The whole team will unite together. PSG is a team that brings joy to the fans."
According to FIFA regulations, Mbappe can negotiate with any club. Real Madrid is considered a strong candidate to own the French striker on a free transfer. Besides, Liverpool and Arsenal are other teams interested in the star born in 1998.
