National Assembly Chairman congratulates and gives gifts to policy families, workers and armed forces of Bac Lieu province

During his visit and work in Bac Lieu province, on the afternoon of January 25, at the provincial Cultural Center, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and the Central Working Delegation met, extended New Year greetings, and presented 360 gifts to policy families, meritorious people, poor households, Agent Orange victims, workers, and laborers in difficult circumstances in Bac Lieu.

Also attending were Mr. Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam, Chairman of the National Assembly's Council for Ethnic Minorities ; Chairman of the National Defense and Security Committee Le Tan Toi; Vice President - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thi Thu Ha; and leaders of relevant departments and branches.

Mr. Lu Van Hung, Provincial Party Secretary, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Bac Lieu province and leaders of Bac Lieu province also attended.

Speaking at the meeting, on the occasion of the New Year 2024, preparing to welcome the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin, towards the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2024), on behalf of the Party and State leaders, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue sent to the Party Committee, government, all people, workers and laborers his warmest regards and best wishes.

After reporting on the country's socio-economic situation in 2023, the National Assembly Chairman emphasized that the positive contributions of the Party Committee, government, army and people of Bac Lieu province contributed to the country's overall achievements. Along with the close and comprehensive direction of the Party, the National Assembly has continuously paid attention to and promoted the work of perfecting institutions and policies, creating a transparent and stable legal corridor, creating better conditions to care for and ensure the legitimate rights and interests of the people, and developing the country sustainably.

The National Assembly Chairman said that, promoting the nation's fine tradition of mutual love and support, before each New Year, the Party, the State, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and organizations always pay attention, try to devote all resources, organize many practical and specific activities to take care of policy families, people with meritorious services, poor households, policy beneficiaries, workers, and laborers in difficult circumstances... so that everyone, every family can enjoy Spring and celebrate Tet.

In the coming time, the National Assembly Chairman requested Party committees at all levels, authorities, the Fatherland Front and organizations in the whole province to thoroughly grasp and well implement the Secretariat's Directive on organizing the Lunar New Year 2024; prepare the best conditions to serve the people to enjoy the Spring Festival, celebrate the New Year joyfully, healthily, safely and economically; continue to care for policy families, people with meritorious services, poor households, victims of Agent Orange, workers and laborers in difficult circumstances...

The National Assembly Chairman emphasized the need to regularly exchange and listen to the opinions of the people and workers, research and develop mechanisms and policies to help and create conditions for each family and individual to develop their livelihoods and strive to escape poverty sustainably. For those in extremely difficult circumstances and with no capacity to escape poverty, the province will switch to social protection to take care of people's lives.

The National Assembly Chairman hopes that policy families, poor households, and people in difficult circumstances will continue to make efforts, strive, actively work and produce, and gradually build a prosperous and happy life.

Workers and laborers share the common difficulties of the country, locality and enterprises; strictly implement the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State, contributing to solving harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in enterprises; implement the enterprise's rules and regulations, improve productivity, sense of organization, discipline, labor safety and hygiene, constantly compete in labor and production, contributing to the overall development of Bac Lieu province.

During the program, on this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross presented 600 gifts to policy families, meritorious people, poor households, Agent Orange victims, workers, and laborers in difficult circumstances in the province.

At the meeting, the National Assembly Chairman and the Bac Lieu Provincial Party Secretary witnessed the Chairman of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam presenting a symbolic plaque of 300 million VND mobilized from socialized sources (Agribank) to ethnic minority households in difficult circumstances in Bac Lieu province.

* On the same afternoon, visiting and wishing a Happy New Year to the province's armed forces, the National Assembly Chairman highly appreciated the achievements of the province in 2023, including the contributions of the armed forces. The armed forces have coordinated well in local military and defense work, ensuring political security and social order and safety.

In particular, the police force has resolutely and synchronously deployed measures to fight and prevent crime, contributing to curbing and reducing the rate of crime increase, traffic accidents have decreased in all three criteria, no fires and explosions have occurred in the area; achieving the targets assigned by the National Assembly. The provincial police have built, consolidated and effectively promoted crime prevention and control models. In 2023, the functional forces coordinated to successfully organize the Defense Zone Drill. In addition, the armed forces have performed well in social security activities. The border guard force annually organizes the program "Spring Border Guard, Warming the Hearts of the Villagers", adopting and educating students; the provincial police force has done a good job in building houses for the poor and low-income people.

The armed forces have taken care of and done well the work of Party building, force building, strengthened political and ideological education, actively advised the Party committees and authorities to implement the Resolutions, especially the Resolution of the 8th Central Conference on the Strategy for National Defense in the new situation, and national defense and security strategies. In the police force, there is Resolution No. 12-NQ/TW dated March 16, 2022 of the Politburo on "Promoting the building of a truly clean, strong, disciplined, elite, modern People's Public Security force, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new situation"...

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue highly appreciated the achievements of the armed forces of Bac Lieu province in the past time. According to the National Assembly Chairman, in the coming time, the armed forces must continue to implement the principle of socio-economic development as the center; Party building as the key; cultural development as the spiritual foundation; ensuring national defense and security as essential and regular. The provincial armed forces continue to advise the Party committees and authorities at all levels, especially the provincial level, in organizing and implementing the policies and resolutions of the Central Committee, the National Assembly, and the Government on military, defense and security work. Covering that is the strategy to protect the Fatherland in the new situation; advising local Party committees and authorities to well implement the laws promulgated by the National Assembly in the recent past.

The National Assembly Chairman requested that the functional forces continue to promote the qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers", the tradition of the Vietnam People's Public Security soldiers, following Uncle Ho's teachings for the armed forces, always being a force absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland, the people, protecting the Party, protecting the regime, protecting the Fatherland, protecting the people in all situations. The military and police forces must be clean, strong, disciplined, and modern to meet the requirements of building and protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.

In the coming time, the National Assembly will consider and give opinions on draft laws related to the armed forces. The National Assembly Chairman requested that the armed forces of the province have voices from the grassroots to contribute to bringing the law into life. The armed forces have done well in Party building, building a clean and strong political system, strengthening the fight against corruption and negativity, promoting the campaign to practice thrift, fight against waste, and fight against crime. The immediate task is to ensure absolute safety for the people; take care of policy families, families with meritorious services to the revolution, and people in difficult circumstances to enjoy Spring and Tet in a warm and absolutely safe manner.
