No fake milk or functional foods detected in Hai Duong

Through inspection of drug and functional food businesses on a number of streets, the inspection team has not yet discovered fake milk or functional foods in Hai Duong.

The interdisciplinary inspection team took samples of functional food products and medicines for testing.

On April 22, an interdisciplinary inspection team including representatives of the Department of Health, Hai Duong Provincial Police and the Market Management Department (Department of Industry and Trade) organized a surprise inspection of compliance with legal regulations in the production and trading of drugs, functional foods and milk in Hai Duong.

Through inspection of drug and functional food businesses on some streets on Ly Thuong Kiet and Nguyen Luong Bang (Hai Duong City), the canteen of the Provincial General Hospital, Hai Duong Obstetrics Hospital and some pharmacies in Kinh Mon town, the inspection team did not record any business activities of powdered milk products at these locations.

Regarding pharmaceutical products, all manufacturing and trading establishments have certificates of eligibility for pharmaceutical business and certificates of meeting the standards of "Good Pharmacy Practice" (GPP). Through actual inspection and data on the retail management software at the establishments, no counterfeit drugs, banned drugs or drugs suspended from circulation were detected according to the announcement of the Drug Administration of Vietnam ( Ministry of Health ).

The inspection team reminded a number of facilities to fully update data on drug import, export, and inventory on management software according to regulations; regularly monitor official warning information about drugs, functional foods, and milk that do not ensure quality for timely handling.

Checking milk production facilities in Hai Duong city

The delegation also inspected two establishments producing functional foods, nutritional products and powdered milk in Cam Giang district and Hai Duong city, focusing on checking the origin of raw materials, production lines, storage facilities, quality testing and product labeling. Representatives of the establishments were aware of the situation of fake milk on the market and pledged not to trade in products of unknown origin.

The delegation randomly took samples of a number of pharmaceutical products, functional foods and milk to send for testing.

In the coming time, surprise inspections will continue to be carried out throughout the province.
